His pride as a vampire makes him keep us at a distance at any time!

"It's a shame." Kaya sighed, as she gently touched his face, longing and regret washing through her.

"What?" he asked, startled.

Surprised, she snapped out of her trance, "Ah, nothing President! I think I better be going. There are still many jobs that I must attend to today." She manoeuvred her way out of his grasp, and hastily walked to the elevator. Quickly fixing her hair and glasses, she turned around and bowed to Kyohei. "Please excuse me, President. I will contact you to remind you of the appointments you have later today." The ding of the elevator signalled her leave.

The emptiness of the foyer still lingered with longing and regret.

Her face flashed before his eyes, "It's a shame," and the look she had, sparked an unknown feeling in him. What's a shame? What was she talking about?

But his questioning was cut short by his rising anger, What am I thinking? Why do I even care? That damned woman! He face scrunched up, as he bared his razor-sharp teeth. "She's nothing but a nuisance," he hissed to himself.

Grabbing his jacket, he headed towards the elevator, his echoing steps jarring the silence. He tapped his foot impatiently as he waited. Kyohei's brows furrowed and his scowl deepened when Kaya's face appeared again. How infuriating!

The elevator dinged open, and he stepped in, his thoughts still full of fury and annoyance.

What was that face she was pulling? He remembered her eyes, the sadness in them that were so engulfing. What was she thinking? His hand unconsciously moved to where Kaya had gently caressed his face. But in a blink, his questions vanished and his fury remained. Why am I even thinking about this?! Forget about it!

However, before he stepped out of the elevator, his thoughts raced quickly back to the empty foyer that seemed to resemble Kaya's eyes during that moment.

Why was she so sad?
