Here is the first chapter of The Grandiose Age; it basically is a direct continuation Narnia's Redemption, so that needs to be read first. I don't own Narnia. Please Review! 917 words.
Cheyenne looks out her open balcony door at the starry night sky shining over Narnia's land.
(It's so beautiful.) She thinks.
She retreats back into her bedroom and climbs onto the bed; lying down as her mind goes to her through the day's eventful Coronation Party.
Flashback:
She stood out on the balcony watching waves crash against the ocean.
"Is everything alright, Your Highness?"
Cheyenne releases the piece of dark brunette hair she had been twirling with her finger and turns towards a faun.
"I am fine. The party is wonderful."
The faun nods, "I am glad it is to your expectations."
Cheyenne keeps from sighing. (I didn't have any expectations besides being nervous. I am worried about going back home though.) She smiles at the faun, "What is your name?"
"Mine, Your Majesty?"
"Of course. You came to check on me and you seem like a very good faun."
"My name is Lintez, Your Majesty."
"It is an honor to meet you, Lintez."
"The honor is to meet you, My Queen. You helped save Narnia and now all rejoice because of what you and the other royals have done."
"I did very little in the war."
"Every little part is very important though."
Cheyenne finally nods in agreement, "You are correct, Lintez."
"If you shall ever need anything, I will be at your service."
"Thank you, Lintez."
"You are welcome, Your Majesty."
Lintez disappears back inside the ball room.
She decides she should go back in for a little while before returning back to the balcony later. She is immediately greeted by several fauns and a few curious rabbits. She couldn't help but smile at all of them.
(They are so adorable!) She thinks.
She stays inside for about an hour before deciding to head back to the balcony.
Everyone inside of Cair Paravel is celebrating the coronation. Alan sees Cheyenne walking out onto the balcony overlooking the shore. He heads in her direction to see what exactly she was looking at.
"Hey, Chey. What are you looking at?"
Cheyenne slightly jumps at Alan's voice and turns toward him.
"Don't sneak up on me like that."
"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's alright."
"What are you doing out here? You should be celebrating with us."
"I was admiring the view. It's beautiful, nothing like Fort Worth."
"I have to admit: this place is amazing, now that the war is over."
"I hope there won't be any more wars in Narnia."
"Well, I can't exactly say there won't be any wars, Chey. There are still those who follow Korin."
"Oh yeah."
Cheyenne sighs and looks out to the horizon once more.
"But you won't be in these wars, Cheyenne."
"Um, Alan? Can we not talk about wars right now?"
"Sure. I'd rather not talk about wars either."
Alan hugs her. She returns the hug.
Samuel and Trent are talking.
"Did you ever think you would be king, Trent?"
"No, I didn't."
"How does it feel?"
"I still have to get used to it. I feel honored to be a king of Narnia."
"I feel the same way. Don't worry. You'll get used to it soon enough."
"Thanks, Samuel. You're a great friend."
"You are welcome."
"I am also amazed I have not tripped over anything so far. I think this is the longest I have ever gone without tripping over anything."
"That's good, Trent."
"Yeah. I'm grateful for that."
Samuel nods. Trent looks around.
"What are you looking for, Trent?"
"Huh? Oh, I was trying to see where Aslan went."
Samuel looks around and doesn't see Aslan.
"Come to think of it, I haven't seen him since the beginning of the celebration."
"Where do you suppose he went?"
"I'm not sure, but I think we should ask Alan and the girls if they have seen him."
"Alright."
Samuel goes in search for Tamryn. Samuel soon sees Tamryn speaking with Rinion.
"Hello, Rinion. Hello, Tamryn."
They look up at Samuel. Rinion bows and Tamryn stands up.
"Hello, Your Majesty."
"Hey, Samuel. What's up?"
"Have either of you seen Aslan?"
Rinion shakes his head.
"Not since we have been crowned."
"He has left, Your Majesties. It is his custom to come when he is needed and leave when he is not," Rinion explains.
Trent walks up to her and Alan.
"Hey, Guys."
"Hey, Trent," She replies.
"How's it going?" Alan asks.
"Pretty good. I'm amazed I didn't trip."
"That's good, Trent," She points out.
Trent nods.
"Um, have either of you seen Aslan?"
The siblings look at each other before looking back at Trent and shaking their heads no.
"Hm. I haven't seen him since the coronation. Samuel is asking if Rinion or Tamryn have seen him."
"Maybe one of them has seen him," She says.
"Maybe," the boys reply.
Trent, Alan, and herself walk toward Samuel, Tamryn, and Rinion.
"Hey, Rinion. Hey, Samuel. Hey, Tamryn," Alan and She greet them.
Rinion bows to them.
"Hello, Majesties."
"Hey, Guys," Tamryn greets.
"Is there something you would like to know, Your Majesties?"
"We have not seen Aslan," Alan replies.
"And we wanted to know if you know where he is," She adds.
"I had just explained to King Samuel and High Queen Tamryn that he has left. He goes where he is needed, and he leaves when he is no longer needed in a certain place."
"I see," says Tamryn.
Cheyenne lets out a breath before going to sleep knowing that the next day would be very long.
