Mycroft walked into his favourite bakery, an old 80s song playing through the speakers. Thankfully, their taste in goods was much better than their taste in music,for this bakery was famous for experimental cakes. The owner saw Mycroft and hurried over.
"Ah, Mr. Holmes!"
"Nick, pleasure. What do you have for me today?"
Nick smiled widely.
"You are going to love this one, Mr. Holmes."
As the baker led the government official over to a special display, the song reached the chorus. Mycroft eyed Nick's latest creation as it played.
"Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down…"
"A masterpiece," Nick declared proudly, removing a thick slice from the yellow and red cake. "The perfect blend of rare cheddar and exotic strawberries."
Mycroft only raised an eyebrow and accepted the plate and fork.
He slid the implement into the cake, carving off a perfect bite-sized piece, then raised it to his lips. Nick watched closely, breath bated in anticipation. Mycroft put the cake in his mouth and chewed slowly as Rick Astley serenaded him from the speakers.
"Never gonna give, never gonna give…."
"I'm sorry, Nick." Mycroft said, putting down his fork. "This is just too cheesy."
