AN: Hiya people!! First Bones fic so be kind.
The box was sat on her desk when Temperance arrived that morning. She always hated today, people always made a big fuss, even when she told not to bother.
Closer inspection revealed that the box contained carrots, lots of fresh orange carrots.
"My mom sent them, she says vegetables make good presents. Anyway happy birthday Dr. Brennan." Zach left, but not before taking one of the carrots. Grinning at the thought of Zach's mom gardening Temperance heaved the box off of her desk, putting it under the coffee table.
"Morning sweetie! So another year older, another spent in this place."
"You don't like it here?" Tempe looked at Angela in surprise.
"Yeah I like it here, but I've not worked here for my entire career."
"I've worked overseas and in Canada. And I do work for the FBI."
"What I mean is; I have worked for different people, in totally different jobs. Have you ever tried even a holiday? And not having anything to do with the deceased?"
"No, she hasn't, but I have. Happy birthday Bones." Booth came in with an open packet of crisps in his hand. "Angela, shouldn't you really be helping Hodgins?"
"With what exactly?"
"With that secret thing of yours?" He really hoped she'd get the hint, not that he doubted it for one moment.
"Oh, yeah. See ya later." Angela practically ran from the office, at the door she briefly paused and winked at Brennan.
"Now what was that about?" Tempe raised her eyebrows at Booth.
"I could well ask you the same thing" he raised his own eyebrows.
"Fine if you tell me I'll tell you."
"Ok, but your going first."
"Ange thinks there's something going on between us."
"Oh. And there isn't?" Tempe simply gave a look that said 'are you serious?'
"No, unless you mean the fact you keep turning up here, and taking me out to dinner." The a thought dawned on her; "And you sent me that bunch of roses this morning didn't you?" He nodded. "Arhh, thank you! I loved them!"
"Good, 'cause I love you. Crisp?"
