Shadows Of Doubt
A/N: I wrote this before I read volume nine, so I'm feeling pretty omniescent. I knew Charden would...spoiler. Oh, for any of you who haven't read up until Train's first reunion with Creed Diskenth won't know who Charden is. And if you haven't read up to six won't know Durham Glastor, so if you don't like spoilers...you have been warned.
Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to Black Cat.
The sun shone brightly on the Apostles of the Stars, and it shone the brightest on Creed Diskenth, founder and leader. His ideals were truly righteous. Beyond any shadow of a doubt, his world was justince. He, reflector of the sun, was the moon, and, together with his disciples, would shake the foundations of Chronos until they broke, and it, along with everything else, would crumble and there would be chaos. They would form that chaos into a temple for the stars; a new world.
But, like any sun, this proverbial sun of Creed's greatest plan cast shadows. Beware to any who stumbled upon these. Those who remained too long found themselves impaled on Creed's Imagine Blade.
Charden found himself in this unfortunate darkness at this very. A recent event had disturbed him, shifting his deeply ingrained faith. He was lost in space, drifting perilously close to a star threatening to go Supernova. Durham Glastor...truly death was too harsh a penalty...
True, his actions were rash and uncalled for. The entire meaning of laying low was to not call attention to oneself. Glastor must have dozed off during that life lesson. But still...to kill him so blazenly in front of them... Creed was sending them a message: 'You are disposable.'
Charden did not like being disposable. Was one so eager to take the lives of his followers really destined to lead the world to greatness? No. Did he, Charden, want to follow him to his vision of a better world? Not really. He was no longer certain his vision and Creed's vision were the same.
Charden sighed and stared out from his shadow at his fellow Apostles, shrouded in light. Was the sun simply too bright for him?
Charden didn't have all the answers, but one thing he was sure of. He wouldn't tell anyone of his doubts yet. Even if they were doubting themselves (and he was thinking of Kyoko here); they would have to decide on their own what to do with themselves. As for himself, he would raise his face to the sun and try and will himself to believe once more.
Well, hoped you liked my drabble! Review!! I don't care if it's just a drabble, I want feedback!
