This is my first story on here. (actually, my first ever piece of fanfiction.) Feel free to criticize, but make sure it's CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, because like any other person, I'm not one to enjoy being insulted.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own the Sonic the Hedgehog series, nor any of the official characters picture in this piece of fanfiction.

Sonic the Hedgehog was trapped. He could at least say so himself, seeing that being in such a small room for such a long amount of time would drive a fast hedgehog like him insane.

"Rolling around at the speed of sound…", he sung quietly. It was quite not like himself – but then again, he couldn't remember for how long he was in here, as the boredom got to him. It could've been two days; or even two weeks, for all he cared. He had lost the count of time….

Then, footsteps were heard on the dark hallways. Sonic knew that this did was definitely not a good thing, considered the current circumstances.

"Eggman?", he said. "Come on, you giant talking egg! Show yourself! I'm not afraid of you!" he continued, fear in his voice as he heard 'Eggman' come closer, and closer…

Before the prison bars, however, another figure showed up.

"Hello, my loathsome copy. It has been a long time, hasn't it?" said the robot, with a voice that sounded much more.. emotive. "Metal Sonic?" said the blue speedster. "If I won't kick your blue robot butt, I don't know who will."

"Now is not the time for verbal fighting, hedgehog. My master has called for you."

"Your.. master? Haven't you rebelled against him, like, a thousand times in a row? Come on.", laughed Sonic.

"Me, rebelling against the magnificent Dr. Ivo Robotnik? I have never heard of such blasphemy! Stop making up events to confuse me, you insignificant hedgehog!" said Metal Sonic, with much static in his voice.

(He must've erased his memory banks,) thought Sonic. (I wonder, however, why does Egghead claim to be 'the magnificent Dr. Ivo Robotnik' when he himself hasn't used that name in years..)

"Less thinking, more doing!" said Metal Sonic, dragging the chained hedgehog for over 15 minutes around various dark hallways, filled with sad prisoners. Sonic just couldn't take it – the people in there had practically lost all hope, seeing that their hero was imprisoned as well… As their sad eyes met the blue hedgehog's, he could do nothing but feel ashamed. Ashamed of who he is, and of how easily he got tricked…

When he finally reached the 'Central Room' as the giant neon sign in front of the door announced, he thought Eggman would be there – or at least SOMEONE. But no; there was only a chair, and an enormous laser, which for some reason scared the living things out of Sonic.

"Hello, hedgehog," a familiar voice shouted through the intercom. "As you can see, this is it. I've gotten tired of just losing all the time, so following the plans of my alterna-uh, good friend, I have become as evil as I could be!"

"I'll just be out of here in no time, eggs for brains. I guess you have forgotten about my— oh, damn."

"Why, hedgehog? Have you forgotten that you are (supposed to be)chained, broken, stuck in a prison under the sea floor, and…" *much static* "…! Regardless of that, we should just get to the plan. Metal Sonic model 4, put him on the chair!"

"Yes, master!" said the robot, obeying the doctor's words.

"What are you going to do to me?" said Sonic, now very scared. "Out of character much , hedgehog? I've never seen you this scared.. No, I'm just ejecting you out of this dimension, spitting you out like a piece of trash into a completely different world, probably never to be seen again! Muhahahaha!" laughed the self-titled 'magnificent Dr. Ivo Robotnik'.

"ROBOTNIK! STOP!" said a young voice from behind.

"Tails!" Sonic cried, with recognition. "Wait, Sonic, I'm coming there, don't you worry!" smiled the young mechanic, with pride in his voice.

"..I don't think so!" said Robotnik, pressing the button. From Tails' point of view, he saw the poor hedgehog.. disintegrating. Sonic loudly murmured something over the sound of the laser, Tails noting it down… before he suddenly disappeared in a flash of light.

"SONIC!" screamed Knuckles, from behind of Tails.

It was a rainy morning, and Sonic woke up in a tropical-looking forest.

"Where am I?" said Sonic, but as he stood up and looked around, he saw the face of a familiar person staring at him from behind the bushes.
