Chapter One - Somebody Save Me

Metropolis, a lively city of ongoing traffic and colorful characters; was a Ghost Town. Abandoned and trashed, left to ruins. All living had long since left or perished in its grasp.

Stray papers and wrappers tumbled carelessly around Kala's ankles, as she crouched into a fighting stance ready to end it.

"You do know this little martyr act won't help you, you and only you are making this situation worse for yourself Kala El". She growled at Zod's malicious mocking tone.

"Why sacrifice your life for such pathetic, pity humans when you could be a Goddess". He drifted off smirking as she snarled.

"Such a travesty". Zod sighed dramatically. Kala ignored his meaningless chatter, rushing him feral in intention. Zod gracefully stepped aside, allowing Kala to pass him; an evil smile painting his features. She stopped abruptly in disbelief, a cold uncomfortable feeling spreading throughout her body.

Kala glanced down at her stomach for confirmation, a quiet gasp slipping through chapped lips. Zod's hand lay wrapped around a daggers hilt, implanted firmly in granite skin.

It hurt so much, why did it hurt so much? She was beginning to feel extremely light, the world spinning around her. Kala was dazed and confused. Her eyes were heavy; dots dancing around her vision.

Where was he, why was she alone? Kala couldn't leave without seeing him.

- Oliver's worst nightmare was coming to face. His Kala, his darling Claire lay dying just yards ahead all alone. Zod loomed over her in triumph, proud of his handiwork.

Oliver lost it, letting go of his control and moral. Notching the last Kryptonite arrow; Oliver let loose the furies of Hell. Revenge was best served to those most deserving.

Zod fell to the ground dead, unable to have comprehended what had happened. Oliver felt no remorse, only cold satisfaction. Justice had been served! Throwing his bow and arrows aside, he sprinted to Kala's side.

"Kala", He murmured, "Claire darling, please hold on just stay with me". Oliver stroked back black curls, from her sweaty forehead. - He was hear, He'd come for her. She wasn't alone anymore. Gathering up whatever strength she'd had left Kala gently cupped his face, wiping away Oliver's tears.

"I love you". She gasped softly, breathing coming in sort.

"As do I you". He replied with emotional agony. - Oliver's eyes widened suddenly, as he looked down at his love. How hadn't he thought of that before? Good Lord he was such an idiot sometimes. Digging into his pocket, he unearthed a golden Legion ring.

Kala was shocked. "How did you get that"? She wheezed in pain.

"You weren't the only one visited that day; you can't die yet, I won't let you". Oliver was determined, nothing was going to stop him. - She wanted to stop him, he couldn't get hurt because of her. But in the state she was, Kala was to weak to stop Oliver. Wrapping his hands firmly around hers the ring rested in the middle.

"NO DO..."!Kala was to late. Both disappeared in a flash of gold and white.
