Sonic's End

"No food or in-flight movies? I'm outta here!" Sonic yelled triumphantly, tearing a panel off the helicopter, and leaping down, standing upside-down on it like a snowboard, spinning around and around as he began the 2000 ft descent to the main road of the capital city.

"Some view, eh?" Sonic muttered to himself, as he blasted downwards. Not much longer now! All I need to do is pull my parachute..." He reached behind him for the cord, only to realise with horror that there wasn't one. "Oh... Oh no! This is bad! This is really bad! I can't believe it! I didn't grab one of the parachutes when I jumped out!" Tears welled up in his eyes. "I... This... It can't end like this! Not now! This can't be the end!" He slowly began to realise that it was the end, and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

He closed his eyes and started to pray. "Hey, God. Thanks for letting me have such a great life. I had a lot of fun. There were loads of good times. If you can hear this, then please, let Tails have a life as good as mine. Let him grow up to be a hero. Teach Knuckles to relax a little. Try and get him a girlfriend or something. And, please, in any way possible, please tell Amy that I always loved-"

SPLAT!

Sonic hit the road head first, smashing his skull and breaking his neck, killing him instantly. His body bounced from the landing, doing a forward flip and landing on its stomach, slowly sliding down the hill before coming to a grinding halt, blood splattered across the road, draining from his body and flowing down the steep hill as people ran towards his dead carcass, yelling for someone to dial the emergency number. Though most of them had gathered from how he fell from the sky that it was useless, that there was nothing that could be done to bring him back.
