The Grand Highblood was, despite being a highblood, a simple man. When he wanted things he took them. When he was angry he would destroy everything around him. But unfortunately for him the thing he wanted most was not something he could take through force or guile. What he wanted was Neophyte, not just her body or her blood but her all. Her whole. He wanted her affections, her emotions, and her heart. But getting them was no easy task and keeping them would be even harder given his track record with anger. That's not even mentioning the fact that Neophyte was no simple woman, if anything she was borderline insane with a "justice"-complex. She wore colors that didn't match and glasses too big for her face and that ever annoying, ear-to-ear, face splitting, maniac grin that frightened even her superiors. Besides all that she was still difficult to understand being that she had been trained to show absolutely no emotion as a requirement of being a legislator.

The Grand Highblood smirked to himself as he bet that he was probably the only living troll that could understand her, seeing as he was constantly paired with her for missions under the direct order of the Condesce herself. His smirk turned into a smile, being the empress's moirail had its perks after all. Not to mention all the favors she owed him over the years.

It was funny really, if anyone had asked the Condesce how she came to power she would of told them that she had done it all herself. But that wasn't the truth and they both knew it. He had gotten her there and he was the one that kept her there. He killed all the other fuchsia bloods so she would be the only one left to ascend to the throne. He threatened all the other highbloods into submission for her and he did everything in his power to make her the unquestioned empress of Alternia.

That was enough dawdling on the past, right now he needed to focus on his future and just how to make Neophyte part of said future. The question still remained, how? After all it was clear to anyone who saw them that they didn't get along in the slightest. During missions they spent the majority of their time bickering and arguing about how to proceed with the job instead of actually just doing it.

The Grand Highblood sighed and sat upon his couch in utter dismay. His sigh was that of pure hopelessness that no matter what he did it would never work out. Little did he know that a certain teal blood sat within her own hive feeling the same way.

If you want me to continue just tell me to!
