Sorry People Out of Time is taking so long! To tide you over, I decided to write this fun little story. Believe it or not, this is based off an actual Norse myth. This takes place while Thor and Loki are still teenagers in Asgardian years, so it's pre-canon. Enjoy!
The Mjolnir Incident
"Loki! Where is Mjolnir?"
"You mean to say you've misplaced it, brother? Father will be very displeased."
Upon thinking of Odin's rage when he found out, Thor's face went paper white.
"Who do you assume took it this time? You know Father won't accept your excuses again."
"Do not mock me, Loki! This is not the time for jest!"
"No, it isn't. We have until tomorrow, when Father returns from his travels. What do you want me to do about it?"
"We must find my hammer!"
Suddenly, a large blue portal-like magic screen appeared, startling both brothers. Upon that screen was the face of none other than Laufrey, king of the Frost Giants.
"Where is the All-Father? I must speak with him," Laufrey boomed.
"Odin is not here," Thor replied strongly.
"You shall heed my warning, Thor Odinson. I have possession of Mjolnir, the mighty hammer of thunder. I will only return it if I have the lovely Freya for my bride."
"Never!" Thor shouted.
"Then you shall never see Mjolnir again, and I shall possess the power of thunder to reclaim my rightful throne!"
And with that, Laufrey disappeared.
"Ooh, now, brother, are you in trouble."
Thor turned to look at Loki. "You seem to forget that we shall share the punishment."
"I see your point." Loki stood and thought for a moment. "What of a plan?"
"I do not like this plan, brother."
"Hush, Thor, you look ravishing."
Loki had used his magic to disguise Thor as Freya, and himself as her handmaiden.
"As do you."
"You spoke with the Warriors Three?"
Thor nodded. "They shall 'escort' us."
"And I have spoken with Laufrey. He is convinced he shall have Freya as his bride today." Loki laughed. "Is he in for a nasty surprise!"
They arrived in Jotunheim in time for the wedding. Lady Sif had rejected the invitation to come, because however much she hated Frost Giants, she wished to stay out of this madness, as well as the fact Freya was a good friend of hers, and she stayed behind to protect her. Just in case. The Warriors Three, however, came anyway. Now, the Warriors were in a strange place between giddy expectation and dread.
"May the wedding begin!"
During the ceremony, Thor shut his eyes tightly. As Freya would also have done this, it didn't look particularly suspicious. He couldn't believe what he was doing.
When the feast began, Thor uncomfortably took a seat beside Laufrey's throne.
"What is wrong, my bride?"
"You promised to return Mjolnir if I came."
Laufrey sighed. "I hadn't expected you to actually come, but alas, I am bound by my word." He dropped the hammer into his "queen's" lap.
Loki lifted their disguises and Thor quickly stood up, holding Mjolnir aloft and making lightning crackle in the sky. "Now you shall feel the wrath of Thor!"
"Brother! We must flee! Father shall soon return!"
Thor grunted in protest but ran for the Biofrost with the rest.
Once safely on the other side, the group celebrated their victory. Odin did return, and eventually found out from an angry message from Laufrey what had happened. But since them, Loki has been able to tease Thor by reminding him of the time they wore dresses.
The End
Yeah, I'm aware it's a bit weird, but I couldn't resist! Thoughts?
