All good things comes to she who waits

"Regina," Emma said, poking on her shoulder, the brunette was sitting by her massive desk doing some paper work.

"Mmm," said Regina, ignoring the poking Sheriff. Emma didn't see but she was frowning a bit by it.

"Are you done soon, so we can go out for lunch?" Emma asked impatiently. Why couldn't she let this wait until after lunch?

"Soon, I need to send this up before I go," said Regina, quickly typing up a group mail on her computer.

"What is it in any case?" Emma wanted to know, curious as to what was so important.

"A notice about the next town meeting in the end of this week," she said, adding a document about the agenda. She carefully added her personal signature and pressed send. She then went on to answer a notice that had come in the aftermath of the school board meeting the day before. As it was flagged she knew it was of importance. She pressed send and was about to turn to Emma, when another red flagged mail popped up.

"Can't you leave it, we are never getting out of here," said Emma annoyed.

"It will only take a second, dear, have patience," said Regina, opening it, frowning and replying, from Charming it would seem.

Emma groaned and walked away from the desk, now placing herself with her back against the desk and her hands crossed over her chest. Why was she even bothering she sometimes wondered, clearly Regina was too notice or care that she was even there. Regina got an answer back, but noticing Emma was no longer behind her, she closed down the window and put the computer on sleep mode. She slowly got up and walked closer to Emma, wrapping her arms around her from behind, leaning her head against her shoulder, whispering, "I love you."

"I love you too, you stupid woman," said Emma, still not pleased.

"How mature!" said Regina with a small laugh.

"Well right now I think you are that," said Emma stubbornly.

"I know you do, so should we argue over how stupid you find me, or shall we go out for lunch?" Regina wondered.

"Okay, but you are buying," said Emma in a matter of fact way.

"Aren't I always?" asked Regina, laughing again.

"You are, thankfully, so what did father want in the mail?" Emma asked curiously, as she had seen whom it was from.

"To stay as far away from you as possible, or he would make me regret it," she said.

"So are you going to?" Emma asked.

"No chance in hell, I haven't managed so far have I?" Regina answered with a soft smile.

"No you haven't," said Emma with a giggle, slowly moving so Regina let her go and let and arm slip around her waist instead.

"I don't think I ever could," the brunette said and cast a loving glance at the blond.

"For that I am very grateful," said Emma, looking back with tender eyes, before they left the office to have both lunch and dessert. Regina just had to make it up to Emma that she had let her wait.
