Okay, so I know I said I'd only post Criminal Minds and Twilight fics, but I started this one a few months ago and got stuck. :( But over the weekend I got a new burst of inspiration and finshed it. (Finally!! Lol) It's been sitting on my laptop half-finished for WAY TOO LONG. Here it is. It is JamesxLily. Review Please. (Unleases puppy eyes)

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. If I did I'd be way richer, and actually be able to afford a computer that turns on more than half the time.

The buzzing of hundreds of students filled the air as they chatted in the entrance hall while walking towards the grand staircase.

There was a slight berth as James Potter and his friends walked in the center, trying to speed up so they could squeeze one last game of cards in before retiring to bed. James took another step and exclaimed loudly, causing every single student in Hogwarts to turn and stare.

"Oi! What the-" The students snickered. Potter- Boy Wonder; acclaimed seeker on the quidditch team;gorgeous heartthrob;and master prankster- was dangling upside down, one leg swinging freely while the other was held up straight by an invisible thread. Even his group of friends was shaking, trying unsuccessfully to choke down their laughter. Sirius managed to choke out a few words in between loud snorts of laughter.

" Hey James, did you set a trap without us and forget about it?" The hall exploded in laughter again. Even the teachers were smirking, though Dumbledore flourished his wand every so often to keep all the blood from rushing to his head.

" Oi, Potter!" Every head swiveled and every body moved to clear a path for Lily Evans. Defying the laws of phsics, every ounce of blood that had collected in his head, drained as he saw the object of his affections striding towards him confidently, a fact that didn't go unnoticed by anyone. Everyone was now on the edge of their figurative seats. A defenseless potter about to go up against the girl he had pestered for 6 long years. A girl who-according to common knowledge- HATED him.

"Yes Lilykins?" He asked her wearily, realizing too late that the pet name would only anger her. But then, he caught a glance at her face. It wore a smirk, not the usual tight lipped grimace of annoyance.

" I've decided something." Oh crap. He was in for it now. She was probably going to reject him callously (Yet again) in front of the whole school.

"And what, pray tell, have you decided?" He raised an eyebrow cautiously. Treading these waters would be tough. One wrong word and she'd make him pay. She moseyed up to him and fingered his tie. His head was level with hers. He swung there- his face frozen from the shock of having her this close; He was at her mercy.

Suddenly she dropped the facade, grabbed his head, and pulled his face to hers. An audible gasp went up as she kissed him softly. He immediately responded and kissed her back. His mind was spitting out a million questions. Was she for real? Was this all a joke? He decided then that it didn't matter. He'd take what he could get as long as he could hold onto this memory forever. She pulled back and he gulped in a breath of air. His lungs burned, and his head spun from the lack of oxygen. She kissed him lightly once more and stood back- a giant smile graced her lips. She walked forward toward the staircase and paused at the base to turn her head and gaze at him over her shoulder. She called out and her voice carried.

"My answer is yes." A cheer rang out and she continued on her way. The students dispersed and nothing could be heard but the mixed voices as they gossiped about what had just occurred. A single, solitary voice rang out with frustration.

"Hey!! Can someone get me down from here?"

The End
