"What's that, Tatsuya-san?"

"Just some chocolate." Tatsuya held up the small candy bar for emphasis. "I had a little money left over after grocery buying, so I thought I'd treat myself."

Sion peered at him through blue bangs. "Oh, okay." He paused for a moment, looking thoughtful. "What's chocolate?"

Tatsuya felt a smile curl around his mouth, because even for Sion it was just such an odd thing to say… but the smile faded as he remembered that considering that Sion had spent his childhood in a lab, the idea that he was unaware of the existence of junk food wasn't too much of a stretch. And Sion had been nothing but understanding when he had been confused (which was bound to happen when you discovered that the four people you found unconscious on the beach were really from a b thousand years /b in the b future /b ). He deserved an honest answer to his question. The only problem was that Tatsuya wasn't really sure how to do that…

"Here." Tatsuya broke off half and handed it to Sion. "I think it'd be easier if I showed you instead of telling you."

Curious, Tatsuya watched on as Sion studied it carefully, feeling the texture under his fingers before he popped it into his mouth…

And then his face broke out into a huge grin. "I like it!"

Tatsuya let himself smile this time as he nudged Sion. "Really? From your expression, I'd say that you love it."

It should have been impossible, but Sion's grin widened. Suddenly feeling very content with his life in general, Tatsuya finished his half with no regrets. Giving up half his chocolate had been worth it to see Sion smile like that.
