Earth, Fire, Air and Water

In beginning-less time

Before knowledge or rhyme

In a land with no light

With no wrong and no right

There was nothing but quiet

No rabbles no riots.

---

From the darkness unfertile

Sprang forth a lion-turtle

He called them by name

And into existence they came.

First to be

Came La and Tui

Circling forever

Never to sever.

After them came dragons of fire

They took to the skies, flying higher and higher

Beautiful and bright

Unbound in their flight.

Third came the bison who lived in the air

Slow, controlled, steady and fair

They breathed in great gusts

They blew away all the dust.

Lastly the badger-moles burst out of the earth

Shook their shaggy heads, displayed their wide girth

Their eyes never saw

Immune to all flaws.

---

Humans appeared and the worthy were taught

But Bending wasn't used as it ought

The world could not live in peace

The pain caused would not cease

So the lion-turtle rose again

To restore the yang and the yin

---

A man was chosen from among the crowd

And, blessed with this curse, he vowed,

"Forever I shall be reborn

To reunite this place that has been torn

Forever I will keep the world

From being thrown, being hurled

Into hate and pain and war and death

Into this task, I devote my ev'ry breath."

And so the beasts of Bending

Together, gave their powers, lending

The elements of life

The elements that caused this strife

And so, to stop the senseless slaughter

The cycle began: earth, fire, air, and water...

Okay, so it's not amazing, but I find the origins of bending absolutely fascinating, so I decided, why not? As always, reviews are much appreciated
