My Only Hope

Disclaimer: If I actually owned Naruto, would I be writing fan fiction. Lol. The song is Only Hope by Mandy Moore.

There's a song that's inside of my soul

It's the one that I've tried to write over and over again

I'm awake in the infinite cold

But You sing to me over and over and over again

Sasuke sighed in defeat, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't find the words to express the

way that he felt about Sakura. He didn't really know what love was, he had been devoid of all

emotions for so long. Sakura had been the one to try to melt his icy heart. She was the one, who

in the middle of the cold, long nights, would pull him close and sing his nightmares away. She

had the beautiful voice of an angel, that soothed the beast inside him, like nothing else could.

So I lay my head back down

And I lift my hands

and pray to be only Yours

I pray to be only Yours

I know now you're my only hope

Sakura gently laid her headdown on top of Sasuke's where he it lay on her shoulder. It had been

years now, and he still had nightmares about his family being killed. The only way that she

could calm him was to reassure him that she was only his, and that she would never leave him.

Then she would softly sing away his demons, and lull him back to sleep. She still remembered

years ago before they had gotten together, that she had wished on a shooting star to be able to be

his. It had seemed childish at the time, but she was with him now, so maybe god really did hear

her pleas. It didn't matter though how it happened, all that mattered was that she was finally

able to be there for the love of her life, and to help him to erase the terrible pain he had lived

with all of his life.

Sing to me the song of the stars

Of Your galaxy dancing and laughing

and laughing again

When it feels like my dreams are so far

Sing to me of the plans that You have for me over again

Sasuke needed Sakura, even he wasn't naive enough to not notice that. She was the complete

opposite of him. She was always bubbly and laughing, while he was quiet, and a little on the

cold side. He needed her to try to pry open his heart and allow him to feel again. Her happiness

and vitality had slowly been chipping away at part of the wall he used to use to protect himself

from hurt. Soon that wall would come tumbling down, and his life would be changed forever.

He had begun to think even her love wasn't capable of that, but he had been wrong,. She was

strong enough to do anything, and she was more than willing to help him to make his dreams

and goals in life come true. She was a constant reminder of what he had done and still had to do, and she was the driving force that gave him the strength to complete his goals.

I give You my destiny

I'm giving You all of me

I want Your symphony

Singing in all that I am

At the top of my lungs I'm giving it back

Sakura had willingly given up her destiny to Sasuke, because she knew that they were meant to

be together, and that their destinies were already intertwined. He was the only she had ever

wanted to be with for all of her life, and she was happy to give up anything in order to just be

with him. What he didn't realize however, was that he was falling in love with her. He might

not know what the emotion was, but Sakura did, and she noticed it in the little ways that he did

things for her. He gave her a reason to continue on, and things to strive toward, as well as

someone to love and care for. She vowed to always be there to protect him, and give him

peaceful dreams, so that he could learn to be happy, and to love her the way that she loved him.

After all, wasn't that what a wife was supposed to do for her husband.
