A/N: ...I have no excuse for this... thing you are about to read. I couldn't help it, okay? Ever since I saw that quote on a thing on Facebook, the little plot bunny wouldn't stop jumping on top of my muse's head. I had to write it before it caused brain damage...

Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail. After you read this, I'm sure you'll be glad I don't...

"No matter how big and bad you are, when a two-year old hands you a toy phone, you answer it."

Just a Big Ol' Softy!

Gajeel sat at one of the tables in the guild hall absent-mindedly chewing on some scrap iron Mira had managed to dig up for him. He was just thinking about maybe taking a job request when the guild's youngest member toddled over to him. As he looked down at the young girl, she stared back with her big, innocent eyes and offered up – what else? – a toy phone.

The iron dragon slayer stared at it for a moment before taking it from her outstretched hand. "Hello?" he pretended to answer the phone. "Well if it isn't Asuka Connell! I'm fine, how are you?" Asuka giggled. "You're doing good? That's wonderful!" The little girl continued to giggle. "What are you up to today? Just hanging out at the guild with the mages, huh? That sounds like a lot of fun! I wish I could do that, but I have to take a job now. Thanks for calling! Bye-bye!"

Asuka laughed, hugged the iron dragon slayer's knee, and ran back to where her mother was sitting a couple of tables away with Lucy, Erza, and few other guild members. He couldn't help but smile himself; he'd never admit it, of course, but that girl was pretty darn cute sometimes…

It was then that he realized the rest of the guild was staring at him in awe. His smile quickly fell. "What are you lookin' at?" he growled.

Natsu shrugged, his arms crossed in front of him, a goofy grin plastered on his face. "Nothing. Just didn't know you had it in you to play with a toy phone, that's all."
