"Hey Ren!" shouted Nora as she ran into the room and began jumping on her bed.
"Yes Nora?" replied Ren while he looked up from his book.
"Do you want to go get pancakes together? Not together-together of course. The cafeteria is doing a pancake buffet and I need someone to help me sneak as many pancakes as we can out so I have more for later. Who knows when the cafeteria will be serving so many pancakes again so we have to take advantage of it. Of course you can have some too but you're such a good cook you can just make yourself some whenever you want," Nora said while barely taking a moment to breath.
"Nora, if you want pancakes I can just make some for you too," pointed out Ren.
"Yeah, but it's a lot of trouble to go through and I don't think you should go through all that trouble for me. Last time you made some Jaune almost got his eyebrows burned off and Pyrrha wouldn't stop scolding me even though it was not my fault," countered the pancake enthusiast.
Ren stayed quiet while deciding if he should say want he was thinking. He had no idea how she would react nor how she would interpret it. In the end he decided to say it anyway.
"I learned how to make them for you."
Flopping down on her bed then sitting up to face Ren she replies in one of the shortest sentences she has said that day. "Really?"
"Remember how my parents would always make you pancakes on you birthday or for special occasions? After the village was attacked and our parents died I decided to learn how to make pancakes for you." said Ren before getting up to search through his books and picking out a few which he showed Nora. "See the publishing date? I got these as soon as I earned a little extra money."
"Oh.."
The two partners were surrounded by silence. Ren Stood not too far from Nora, waiting for a response. Nora thought what he said over in her head and decided to do something risky. She got up and walked closer to Ren.
"Hey Ren?"
"Yes Nora."
"Boop"
She kissed him on the cheek.
Short but after it was revealed that their parents are dead and that they have no home to go to I just had to write something.
