It's the night of Slughorn's Christmas party, and Regulus is sick of pretending he's doesn't want Barty. He's usually not the impulsive Black brother – Sirius is the Gryffindor after all – but he doesn't want to lose Barty to some girl who will never appreciate the soft-spoken, but cunning Ravenclaw. So it's time for Regulus Black to claim what is rightfully his.
They're both at the Christmas party. Regulus is happy to see that Barty's date is off and flirting with a seventh year, leaving Barty all alone and vulnerable to Regulus's mercy.
Regulus walks smoothly up to Barty and clutches Barty's hand.
"Reg?" Barty asks.
"Come," Regulus orders and drags Barty over to his goal. He smirks when he reaches it and tilts his head up.
Barty follows Regulus's lead, looking up, and blushes when he sees the dangling mistletoe. "Reg?" he asks again.
"Now I get to do what I've been thinking about doing for over a year." He grasps Barty's robe and pulls his lips to Regulus's, infusing the kiss with everything Regulus feels for the Ravenclaw.
When they separate, both have slight blushes, Barty smiles, his fingers move up and play with Regulus's dark hair. "About time," he breathes, tilting his head up and kissing Regulus again.
Regulus happily returns the kiss, thankful that for once he decided to act like a brash Gryffindor.
