It was a starry night, and it was my turn to take watch. I was sitting on the ledge of the cave we were staying in, looking up at the sky.

What cave, you ask? Not telling. That would be perfect, for me to open my big mouth and us get captured by the school. Again.

Not happening.

I heard someone come up behind me, and turned around to see who it was.

"Night Fang," Max said, yawning. She looked tired; her eyes were drooping and her long hair was falling in front of her face. She rubbed her eyes, but I thought she looked beautiful.

"Night Max," I said distractedly, looking away.

She looked at me for a short moment, and sat down beside me.

"Is something wrong?" she asked me.

I turned to look at her. "Nope."

"Fang," she said, "c'mon. I know something's bothering you."

I ignored her, my eyes switching between her lips and her eyes, as she awaited my answer. I thought about all the times I've kissed her, and she ran away. I wish she loved me back. I'd do anything for her; I'd always protect her.

"Fang."

I was brought out of my trance.

"What?"

"Is something wrong?" she repeated.

"No, just thinkin'," I told her.

"About what?" she asked.

"Stuff." I didn't really want to talk about it.

"Like?"

"Things I can't have," I said. If only she knew.

Max sighed. "Yeah, I think about that stuff sometimes too. Like, how we can't have normal lives, and we're always on the run...stuff like that."

For once, we weren't on the same track.

"That's not what I mean," I said. She looked at me, waiting for me to continue. "I mean, some things are right in front of me, and I can't have them. And it drives me crazy."

"Oh yeah?" Max asked, scooting closer to me.

"Yeah."

"Like what? What is right in front of you that you want so badly?"

I looked at her, and cupped her face in my hands. I looked into her hazel eyes with nothing but love.

I slowly leaned in to kiss her, and she leaned in too.

Her soft lips were on mine before I knew it, and she wasn't running away. She stayed.

She was actually kissing me back.

It was amazing. I poured all of my love for her into the kiss and turned my head to make it deeper.

We broke apart, both panting.

"You," I whispered.

"Well you can't say that anymore, can you?" She smiled at me, all the drowsiness gone from her face. Her cheeks were rosy, and her eyes were shining; she was beautiful.

I smiled back, and leaned in to kiss her once more.

Hehe, I just wanted to write a little drabble. Hope you liked it. Review?
