Broken Promises

-Flashback-

In the Uchiha manor, Sasuke had to tell Naruto something very important, and he knew that the dobe wouldn't take it well. "Naruto." Naruto looked up from his roasted chicken ramen. "Sasuke?" The raven-haired boy looked into the other's deep blue eyes. "I'm leaving." "What?!" Sasuke sighed, the blonde wouldn't make this easy. "I need to defeat Itachi, and Orochimaru is the only one who can help me do that." Stunned, Naruto stood up, grabbed Sasuke by the shoulders and said, "I can help you defeat your brother! Please, just don't leave me!" Sasuke shook him off and walked to the door. "Please, Sasuke! I…I love you!" Sasuke stopped at the doorknob. Naruto hugged him from behind saying, "I won't let you go!" Sasuke turned in the hug to face Naruto. He kissed him on the cheek. Naruto was so stunned that he let go of Sasuke. "Naruto. I promise you that I will come back when Itachi is dead, I will not forget you." He walked out the door. Naruto collapsed to ground in heart-wrenching tears.

-End Flashback-

That had been over a year ago, yet not a single day went by that Naruto didn't miss Sasuke. 'Today is the anniversary of the day he left.' Naruto thought, however this just made him even more miserable, and decided to refrain from thinking of it. Naruto forced himself to get out of bed, and ran as fast as he could to the Hokage Tower where his next mission waited. "Ah, Naruto, right on time." Tsunade said as Naruto walked in. "Yes, Hokage-sama." "Now then, Naruto. I am afraid that I have no missions for you today. I suggest that you go home and rest after having so many missions the past days." "Yes Hokage-sama." Was all the blonde ANBU said as he walked out the door. Slam. Naruto walked into his apartment and slumped down on the couch. "Dammit, I needed something to get my mind off Sasuke." "Now why would you want to get your mind off me?" Naruto's eyes widened. "S-Sasuke?" He stuttered. He turned only to see two onyx eyes staring at him. Naruto charged at him yelling, "Sasuke!" Sasuke looked at him while being held in the embrace, "I told you that I would be back, Naruto. Naruto started crying.

Naruto sat up in bed still crying. "A dream. Only a dream." He muttered, before laying back down to sleep.

Me: Hurray! My first one-shot fanfic!

Naruto: Can you stop Sasuke?!

Sasuke: I love glomping you Naru-chan!
