I ran a hand through my dark unruly curls as I waited for my coffee order, thinking about the day lying ahead of me. It was going to be a fairly busy day, seeing as I had my first rehearsal with Rachel and Jesse for the Broadway show we were in. I'm not one to complain; I have been waiting for a chance like this for ages, but thinking of my sister Lauren at home on her own was a scary thought. It wasn't that I didn't trust her; it's just that she's 6 weeks pregnant… with mine and Kurt's child. If anything ever happened to Lauren, the baby would take a blow too.

As I waited, I looked down at the silver band on my finger, and felt the smile playing on my lips. I still found it so unbelievably amazing that I was married to Kurt. I had a whole future together with him, and there was a baby in it. I started grinning as I thought about that image; Our little girl or boy running around the back yard, squealing and giggling as they ran away from Kurt, who was trying to get them to have a bath. The child ran up to me, and I smiled knowingly and handed them a gummy bear, saying that they could have another one if they had a bath. As I heard the tiny feet running upstairs, Kurt turned to me with a slight smirk and told me he loved me.

As the lady behind the counter handed over my coffee, I felt my phone in my pocket buzzing. I pulled it out to see that there was a text from Lauren, and quickly sat down in a nearby chair to drink my coffee as I read it. When I opened the text, I could feel the blood draining from my face.

B, I need you. NOW.
It's an emergency!
- Lozz

I flew out of my chair, and practically bolted for the door, nearly knocking down a few chairs and surprised looking people, pocketing my phone as I went. Once outside the café, I called over the nearest yellow taxi and jumped inside, and yelled the address at the driver. He seemed a little taken aback, but he started driving. The taxi felt like it was going at a snail's pace, but the apartment I lived in wasn't too far away, so we were there in 10 minutes. I opened the door, shoved some cash in his face, and yelled 'keep the change!' as I slammed the door shut and ran inside.

I started tapping my foot impatiently as I waited for the elevator to travel all the way down to the ground level, mentally cursing the fact that we got an apartment on one of the highest levels. The elevator pinged, and I was inside and jamming the 'lv 26' button with my thumb before the doors even had time to open properly. Standing inside the elevator, I watched the numbers on the screen go up as the elevator went from floor to floor, mentally willing it to go faster. In what seemed like hours, the elevator finally reached level 26, and the doors opened. I ran out, and flew down the hallway, pulling my keys out as I went. As I got to our door, I shoved the key inside the lock and bashed open the door.

I ran inside, calling out as I went,

"Lozz? LAUREN WHERE ARE YOU?"

I ran around the corner into the living room and halted in my tracks.

There, lounging across the couch eating a pizza, was Lozz. I looked at her in alarm. What was wrong? Was it the baby? She looked up at me.

With a mouthful of pizza still in her mouth, she said, "Oh Blaine, hi. Gee, you took your time getting here."

The blood was rushing into my cheeks as I realized what was happening, "what's the emergency?" I spoke through gritted teeth.

She heaved herself off the couch, and walked into the kitchen to throw out her pizza crust, and as she went she said, "The toilet's not flushing."
