people do. I am just borrowing them for awhile
This story takes place right at the end of Zenon the Zequel, during Protozoa's concert.
"Everything has been going great lately," thought Zenon as she rocked out to Protozoa's latest hit, "I finally got over Greg, me and Neb are best buds again, even after that inky fight we had. I even made a new friend, Orion, after all that time we spent together. And Margie is staying for awhile-" Then it fully sunk in that Margie was staying with her. Even though Margie wanted to become a better person it didn't change the fact that she probably told Greg to break up with Zenon, almost ruined the friendship she had with Nebula, practically stopped her from finding Protozoa and the aliens, and worst of all, SHE MADE ZENON PAINT HER TOENAILS! This was going to take awhile to set in.
Zenon really needed to get away from it all for awhile. She turned to Neb, who had been dancing right next to her, and mouthed, "Be right Back!" Neb nodded and Zenon ran blindly to the nearest exit, tears forming in her eyes.
Margie? She hates me, I know it. She did everything she could to make my life a living black hole major! I know she wants to change, but what if she still treats me live space dirt?
As she walked away from the concert, she bumped into someone. She looked up to see Orion's concerned face. He took one look at her tear stained face and put his hands gently on her shoulders.
"Ze? Are you alright? You look miserable, not like a hero extreme who just saved her Spay-Stay!"
"Its-Its Margie," she sobbed, "she's staying and I know she wants to be different but she was so cruel major to me ever since I met her and I-"
Orion pulled her into a hug, wrapping his arms comfortingly around her "Shhhh, Ze, its ok, we'll work this out. Everything's going to be ok. The concert is ending, so do you want to take a walk somewhere and talk about this?"
She looked up at him and sniffled, then nodded through her tears, "Thanks, Orion"
As they walked down the long corridor toward the AP lab, which they knew would be empty. Orion kept his arm around her shoulder to comfort her and she leaned into his embrace. He let her vent her worries and just listened. He had liked Zenon for awhile now, ever since she started working in the AB Lab, and he wished that someday she would like him too. He was planning on asking her out after they got back from space, but everything had been so crazy, with Microbe's concert and Judy and Plank's wedding. He was so lost in thought he barely heard what Zenon was saying.
"-and I just feel like if Margie stays, I'm going to be left out again minor," she said, wiping away the last of her tears.
"Ze? I don't want to interrupt, but we're here," Orion said, opening the door with his own personal key. He led her over to a wall facing a window and they both sat down against it, looking up at the stars. "Ze?"
When she didn't respond, he looked into her eyes. "Zenon, don't worry. Everything is going to be just like it was before Margie lived up here. Maybe things haven't going to well lately, and maybe you are right. Maybe Margie will still try to cause problems. But if you let her bother you that much, you are letting her win. Don't let her walk all over you. People like you for who you are, not what Margie says you are. Trust me, you are a really stellar girl."
"Really?" she asked. When he nodded, she continued, "You're right Orion, I am turning almost nothing into crisis mode major. You're a great guy Orion, I just have been too wrapped up in myself to see it. I thought Greg was the guy for me, but maybe-I mean, I think that you-"
Knowing what she was going to say, he silenced her by gently brushing his lips up against hers in a kiss.
