Four days, seven hours, twelve minutes and seventeen seconds- make that eighteen. Nineteen. Twenty. Twenty one. Edgar counted the seconds to himself. The motel room brought little comfort to a hazardous situation. The dripping walls, musty covers and painful glare of the television. A news anchor droned on, but Ed didn't care. He only wanted the warm of his lover back against his-
"I'm not going back to you!" he yelled as he threw himself against the mattress.
That only reminded him of the love they once made. The pain they experienced as the nights grew colder and longer. There wasn't a hint of fear or frozen air in their room. The bed was a safe haven that they tore apart. Edgar felt more empty as he shuffled under the stiff covers. They felt like the ones on NNY's bed. They were cold too. The whole scene was familiar, until it dawned on the tired man.
This was just like Nny's.
Then the tears came. They were quick, and painful. Edgar clung to a moldy pillow, mind on the love of his life.
"I'm so fucking sorry," Mr. Vargas gasped loudly as he clung for someone that was in his home," I want- I want...you."
Edgar threw the pillow against the wall. Dying feathers sputtered out as he grabbed his bag and dodged to the door. He recited a deep apology to himself. Nny needed to know just how much he was worth. He sped to the decrepit house and ran to the front door. His fist pounded on the splintered door. He had no patience for waiting. He wanted to see his beloved one time before-
Time stopped. Nny opened the door, his tear stained face a rare sight. It showed a deep pain that Edgar never witnessed. It made him cry even harder.
"I'm-"
"So damn sorry," Nny fell to his knees at the feet of Edgar," You don't deserve to be stuck with a psycho like me."
"What are you talking about?" The Brit asked, shocked that his once flame was falling on his last leg.
"You- you left me," Nny choked out," it was all my fault. I- I've been rotten to you. An absolute case. You couldn't handle me. This whole relationship fell apart because of me-"
Edgar wouldn't have that. He fell to his knees and kissed Nny's cracked lips. It didn't matter. The killer froze, as Ed's hands rubbed his back. His heart rate decreased as a wave of relaxation spread into the once nerve wracking scene. Nny leaned into his lover, sniffing every few seconds. When the kiss broke, Edgar clung to his boyfriend, eyes around the room.
"You are my perfect angel," he said softly," and I'm sorry. I know that you're different. And I love that about you."
For the first time in four days, eight hours, ten minutes and three seconds. Four. Five. Six, Nny was smiling. It was the genuine smile that was hidden within the walls of the broken house. The next kiss lasted for a few minutes, before the torturous countdown ended. Edgar was home.
