Disclaimer: I don't own Forever Knight vampires and Lacroix (I wish), various In A Heartbeat characters, or the Star Trek universe.
Author's Notes As you may guess this story is a crossover with Forever Knight (a cool vampire show that was on in the early 90's and is now on the sci-fi channel) and Star Trek. I've been meaning to do this story since I got addicted to Forever Knight over the summer, but I couldn't come up with a beginning until now (came to me while I was doing homework). I hope you like this one because I do!

Children of the Night
Beginnings and Goodbyes
Chapter 1
"Pierson to Scott," Ensign Bradley Scott's communicator chirped. He tapped it to activate it.
"Scott here," Bradley said with a sigh in reply, as he put down the autopsy report he was double checking.
"I've got another one for you," Ensign Amanda Pierson told him from three floors up, "I'll warn she's pretty bad," Bradley never knew what to expect with Amanda "pretty bad" could mean anything from a phaser to the back to getting burned alive.
"What happened?" Bradley asked.
"Some type of explosion," Amanda anxiously told him, "No one really said,"
"Okay, send her down," Bradley told her and seconds later there was a shimmering of light and a black body bag appeared on a near by table.
"Did you get her?" Pierson chirped through his comm. badge, as Bradley unzipped the bag and saw a young women with blonde hair who looked like she had barely been touched let alone been in an explosion.
"Yes, I did," He told her with a slight puzzlement in his voice as he went to retrieve his instruments from the other side of the room, "Are you sure she ws in an explosion? She looks like she just bumped her head or something,"
"Yeah, she looked just horrible," Amanda told him with a bit of sadness in her voice.
"What the-" Bradley exclaimed in utter shock. There before his eyes was the body bag, empty.
"What's the matter?" Amanda asked, he quickly tapped his badge to drown her out, once he saw that his former corpse was standing just to the right of the table. He gasped when she turned toward him. Her face and the rest of her body looked as if she had never been scratched. Her eyes were unnatural green and she had fangs hanging right over bottom lip. She looked like no alien he had ever seen.
"What are you?" He gasped.
"Something very different from you," She said with a slight lisp.
Author's Notes: Did you like it I hope so? It's based on how the two main characters met in Forever Knight. If you any questions ask in the review (hint, hint). Thanks for reading!
