I do not own BioShock; neither the franchise nor the characters. However I do own the writing. Enjoy!
'Father, I know you may have not wanted a daughter, but love is just a chemical; we give it meaning by choice…'
My dear Eleanor… You are the very reason I came this far! It's thanks to you that my heart still beats, and I exist for the express purpose of protecting you, and loving you. My beloved little daughter, you're all grown up…
We have been apart for so very long, but now there is nothing that can separate us. We're going to get into that lifeboat and go up, up and away; out of Rapture and into the sunshine. We'll travel whatever distance until we reach the shore, and then our new life shall begin…
Bring your mother as well; don't push her off the boat. Despite all the atrocious acts she's committed, she's still your mother, and she loves you. I know you haven't seen her at her best really, but there is still some humanity in her. The Surface will do her good. She could have a fresh start and, with your help, it could be a good one.
Make sure you've got all the Little Sisters, I'd dread to leave them behind. It'll be no problem for us to raise them, to teach them to be normal, happy little girls. Maybe one day we could even try to find their real parents… I'll keep an eye out for Tenenbaum as well. I'd like to make sure she and her little group of sisters made it up safely.
You're going to love the Surface. There's so much for you to see! Forests, rivers, mountains, stars…Even animals that aren't fish or cats! I'll take you places. The cinema, the fair…I know you've grown, but we've missed out on far too many father-daughter moments. I want to compensate for that.
And maybe one day we can go back to Rapture, to see how much we can fix, to see if there is anyone we could save.
This is our final strife, darling Eleanor, and then we will be free. You and I- as daughter and father- will have a new beginning…
These thoughts take place as you run down the hall, back from the Psychiatry Ward. I wanted to have some Delta-reflective writing. I actually quite like how this turned out!
Though it is quite sad if you know how the game ends.
