Staircases
"Hiei." The voice was scratchy and gruff from sleep.
The dark demon did not pause in his preparations. He pulled a light blue tank over his head.
Yusuke sat up – the thick blanket falling from his chest. "Its a long way down with no windows. I'll show you the front door."
He stood and tugged on a pair of jeans, not bothering to zip them. No one out at this time of night would any scruples about nudity.
Hiei appraised the window that outlined the Makai gloom – and the drop below. He had not remembered climbing so may flights of steps when the Detective's name and tongue had been hot on his lips.
He followed behind Yusuke softly as the threaded their way down through the fortress. At the front archway (as there was no actual door hung) Yusuke waved his hand as if Hiei had said something flippant.
"I'm not waiting up for you." He vanished back into the dark stairwell.
Hiei stood for a moment, and then left.
