Ginny and James casually walked down the hall, going over the plan in quiet tones, until they spotted Snape walking toward them alone. James grinned widely and said, "Ok, wait here while I get behind him. When he walks past–"

"James," Ginny interrupted a bit impatiently, "we've been over this loads of times. I know what to do. Now get going." She gave him a little bit of a shove as she ducked behind a suit of armor. Glancing around the metal statue, Ginny watched as James walked past Snape and casually turned around, trailing close behind him. James gave her a wink as they neared the armor, and she waited until Snape was just past her.

"Hey," Ginny said with a smile as she walked up next to him. "You're Severus, right?"

Snape gave her a hard glare before sneering, "Do I know you?"

"Not really, I'm new. My na–"

"Then what are you talking to me for?" he snarled, looking her right in the eye. Years of potions lessons paid off as Ginny stared right back.

Not letting her smile falter, she explained, "You looked like you needed some cheering up. I like to be the sunshine on a rainy day." Her grin was now ear to ear as she spied James pulling the bottle out of his robes from the corner of her eye. She forgot all about talking to Snape as she watched James drop the bottle and mutter "Secutus!" It immediately halted and bobbed behind the Slytherin's back. James gave her a wink and motioned to the next corridor.

"Well," Ginny said when they got to the intersection, purposefully ignoring Snape's muttered insults, "it was pleasant chatting with you." Snape walked quickly down the opposite hall, and as an afterthought, Ginny called, "I like what you did with your hair!"
