"Abby! My God Abby what did you do?!" Marcus yells out after he pushed past the crowd that gathered already, almost all with a mirror expression to his. She just stands there her shoulders heaving from heavy breathing the gun still in hand. It was apparent by the blood pooling onto the floor and the entry of the bullet she won't need it again.
"I…he…I…he caused this…he…" She turns to him with pupils blown as she spits out the words in shaking unsure breaths.
"Abby…." It is all he will allow himself to say the only thing he can think of. This couldn't be real. It couldn't.
"We will never recover. You get that right? Never. No matter the lies we tell. How much we act like it didn't happen. It did. Someone had to pay." Abby begins to rant it is when she starts to wave around the hand that held the gun that Marcus became concerned; more than he was already.
"Please put down the gun Abby."
"Don't worry you're safe. I actually did my job as a doctor and protected you. Everyone."
"Just like you always do."
"No. Not always. Theolonious took that away from me. He used me to get to others. Used my influence as a doctor to gain their trust. How could he do that?! I thought he was my friend!" Abby shrieks and than releases the safety from the gun.
"Abby please stop!" Marcus pleads taking a step closer.
"I already told you that you're safe." She gives a weak smile before pressing the gun against her temple. He doesn't stop the think doesn't even consider anything else. Just her. He had to protect her. He dives forward and tackles her over landing in the blood of the former chancellor. Marcus holds her down with his weight, wrestles the gun away and tosses it away. He watches one his guards picking it up.
"Abby you need to relax!" He implores with her.
"I caused this. They trusted me!"
"No you didn't! Someone get Jackson!" He turns to the crowd shouting of his orders. Someone nods and takes off. For a few minutes she stays the blood she placed there and he remains with his knees on her thighs, hands on shoulders pushing down. Even with the gun away he feared letting her go.
"My God what happened?!" Jackson exclaims in a matter similar in which Marcus had.
"You need to sedate her!"
"Don't you dare Jackson!" He looks at both torn on what or not to do.
"Jackson Dr. Griffin has a psychotic break she needs sedated!" The young doctor nods before opening his medical bag fumble with the syringe and needed bottle of medicine. Abby starts to fight harder.
"Please calm down Abby. Please. It'll be alright. I promise you it'll be okay. Trust me."
"I trusted Jaha and look where that lead us." Jackson drops to the his knees, needle at the ready and pushes it into the flesh of her neck. She drifts into artificial sleep within seconds. Marcus finally lets go of her and sits next to her, his heart pounding. Looking at the damage and knowing she, Abby Griffin, Doctor Abigail Griffin had taken a life by her own free and willing actions he fears his words it'll be okay will only serve as a lie.
