Hey everyone I have decided after re-discovering fanfiction that I would re-write this story. I did not realise how many lovely reviews I had gotten almost 7 years ago. However I will be re-writing every chapter. Please bare with me I will have to do one chapter at a time, I will therefore have to remove the following chapters and re-load one at a time.
Thank-you so much
I do not own any Naruto characters
Hinata stumbled through the main gates of her families estate, not daring to turn back afraid she would see her father's disapproving face once more. She walked slowly one small step at a time, her head never lifting to properly see where she was going. She didn't even seem to register when her name was called by her pink haired friend, small hands gripped her arms to stop her from moving any further. "Hinata-chan what's wrong, what's happened" Hinata raised her head, delicate tears escaped her eyes and slid down her face, before falling to the cold floor below. She hadn't realised but she had completing the short journey to the training ground, where team 7 appeared to have just finished training for the day. Sakura's worried eyes pierced through her lilac orbs, and she felt her breath hitch.
Flash Back
" Hinata you are not getting any stronger, how can an heir of mine by so weak" Her father's face was emotionless, his eyes boring into her soul crushing any confidence she may have had beforehand. Hinata's eyes immedietly started filling with fresh tears " i…i…I'am farther, I've been training really hard with sensei" Her voice sounded crushed, almost pathetic.
Her father's facial expression did not change, and he let out a laugh "well your extra training is not paying off, you are still too weak. How do you expect to take over the clan if Neji is surpassing you at every level" Hinata gasped, now that had hurt, being compared to the prodigy of the clan was a cruel taunt not that she hadn't heard it before of course.
"I'am not WEAK, you just can't see it because you're always training with Neji-nii-san" Before she had time to register anything, her father was in front of her. He was at least two feet higher than her, and her first instinct was to cower. She had no time to even cower before a hand come into contact with her face, the force was hard enough to knock her to the floor. She was momentarily stunned, her hand automatically reached to cradle the red spot growing on her face. Hinata stood slowly making sure not to make eye contact, with the man in front of her. He spoke nevertheless "you will never talk to me like that again, you are a disgrace to this clan, I wish for you to leave my sight this instant". Hinata's head shot up in surprise, she had never expected her father to tell her to leave. " b..but" she hadn't even finished her sentence before her father interrupted her " I said get out" his voice was firm holding no room for argument. And that was when she ran.
Present
" I…I',m f…fine thank..y..uo Sa…Sakura-c..chan" she tried to keep her voice as strong as possible, forcing herself to keep as many tears in as possible. She was sure sakura didn't believe her story, but she was herded away from Kakashi nevertheless leaving Hinata alone once again. The memory of her father's beating stung in her memory as much as it still did on her cheek, her breath hitched in her throat once more as she fought the tears that threatened to fall. Using chakra boosted jumps, she quickly crossed the training field, heading towards the grounds just past the tree line where her team normally trained. Keeping her head to the floor her bangs caressed her cheeks, keeping the red hand print shielded from anyone else that was using the training fields.
All of a sudden her body collided with something hard, the sudden impact knocked her off balance and she was powerless to do anything but fall. The need to protect her falling body kicked in and her hands flung out to grab whatever she could that would stop the impact. Her eyes immediately shut, waiting for the pain that would surely follow when her body hit the ground. A small squeak erupted from her mouth, when her body landed against something hard. Still refusing to open her eyes, she ran her hands across the said object and stiffened. Although too frightened to open her eyes, the feel of the muscles beneath her, confirmed she was on top of a very muscular human. She was unsure how she went from falling backwards to landing stomach to stomach with the said individual, but she sighed softly, grateful that she had not landed on the ground. She was already in a great deal of pain, both physically and mentally but not hitting the ground was a miracle. A soft chuckle vibrated through her body, wait I didn't do that did I. As silly as the thought sounded, she felt the need to convince herself that it was not her that had made that noise.
"I didn't know you felt that way about me Hinata-san" If her body wasn't tense before, it was certainly tense now. That voice was scarily familiar, and now she thought about it so was the chakra she had failed to identify at all. Her breathing hitched in her throat but she still couldn't force her eyes to open, a gently touch to both her arms did though. As quickly as the situation had occurred, her eyes came into contact with the biggest pair of hazelnut eyes she had ever seen. She could feel her cheeks heating up, the slow realisation that she was in such close proximity to a man, and her team mate at that kicked in. The young man just grinned, his features very similar to that of a dog, which somewhat contributed to the cheeky grin that was now plastered across his face, one that made her heart flip. He was wearing his normal training attire, but in the fall his hood had fallen from his head showing his huge black mane.
"S..Sorry ki….kiba-kun…i..w..wasnt wa…watching w..were I was…g…going" Her voice was quiet and withdrawn. The young man decided to shake off her nervousness this time, and slipping his hand around her waist he stood pulling her with him. She immediately took a step backwards, keeping her head low enough that her hair would cover the bruise her father had made sure to leave upon her cheek. "It's okay Hinata-san we were just worried, we've been waiting ages for you to start training" his voice was gentle, but it did little to calm her nerves.
This was going to be a long day.
