New Family

This fanfiction was inspired by Don't Leave Me Alone by Kittykatpaws on DeviantArt! I was alone. Abandoned by the world, including the Guardians. No one cared about me, much less noticed I existed. But now I have a new family. My family. A bit o' guardian bashing.

"Pitch! P-please...you're the only one left." I pleaded, begging him to take me in through the tears.

"Why should I let you in? You are a Guardian. A Guardian's is to bring joy to children and rid them of fear. Why should I comfort the very one whose purpose is to rid me of existence?" He responded, back turned towards the old bed marking the entrance of his lair.

"Because...b-because...you were right!" I screamed, letting the salty water run down my face.

"Oh?"

"Y-Yes, you were right! After that Easter, they did treat me like one of them. But then...t-then..."

"They abandoned you. Let you be on your own, letting you wither in loneliness more extreme than it was before. They let your sole believers wash away, like they were never there before." He finished for me.

"They've done it before. Mother Nature, who believes I her anymore? Or Father Time, heard of him? Of course not." He continued, voice dark and...cold. Like the dark I first saw, and the cold I first felt.

"A-And don't forget the m-most terrible c-case. H-He was o-only doing his job and they still managed to get rid of all of his believers." I said.

"And who may that be?" Pitch asked, still staring forward.

"His name is Pitch Black." I answered, and I saw him flinch. He paused before continuing.

"Come inside, Jack Frost, our small family could make room for one more." He said, and I let out a cry of relief.

"Thank you Pitch! Thank you, thank you thank you!" I said, and jumped up, clinging onto his back. I let more tears fall, happy tears.

"But promise me one thing, Frost." Pitch said, head turning the slightest.

"Y-Yes?"

"Don't leave us alone again." He said, and I felt his muscles tighten under my grip.

"Never! I will never leave you, Pitch. I promise, I promise." I replied, smiling happily through choking sobs.

"I promise."
