when his name appears on her cell-phone, a quick new message, her fingers urgently press read and immediately a smile blooms on her bright face. she swears she tastes the perfect kind of happiness.
when he locks onto her flighty-gaze, a beat skips, and abruptly her wandering eyes skip over heads to escape his wavering gaze; she swears his eyes the bluest shade of azure—like the ocean breathing the salty air.
when she vows, promises, swears not to break her own rules—she's already broken the number one rule: don't even think about it. she exhales the gasping desperate words in attempt to save the empty promises.
when his words bite, her smile falls, and her nails are chewed to their beds, she swears her heart cracks slightly, her mind boggles for brief seconds, and she forces a cracked smile for everyone who witnessed a fallen star.
