Spoilers: Nothing major, just a hint from "Duet" and the fact that Ronon's in it.

In the beginning, it was perfect. The lost city of Atlantis was everything the expedition hoped for—a staggeringly beautiful place brimming with the legacy of the Ancients. Sure, they were hundreds of feet under water. Yeah, there was the minor problem of the Wraith. But how could he complain when the leader of the expedition was a civilian and therefore could not care less about his record? How could be mumble when every time he would turn around, a shapely alien woman gracefully glided into his life? How could he say 'no' to isolation from Earth when Earth grew a little too small for him? Why should he gripe when it seemed that said shapely alien woman was falling in love with him? The Genii were quickly taken care of, the Wraith had been beaten back at every encounter and new and improved Ancient technology was being discovered daily.

As easy as the beginning was, it only got better as years went by. Atlantis has thrived as never before; a virus discovered in the Ancient labs killed most Wraith and those that were left were crippled. The Genii found it in them to open diplomatic relationships, and the self-proclaimed 'Atlantis crew' were viewed by the Pegasus people as, if not gods, demi-gods. Aiden Ford was caught and somehow, Beckett and Elizabeth were able to convince him to go off the Wraith drug. Life was perfect; in fact, within the past month, two couples were married and two more engaged! Elizabeth and Rodney—now Drs. McKay—were the first to tie the knot, soon followed by Teyla and Ronon in an extravagant ceremony that blended the customs of both their cultures. Dr. Beckett finally worked up the courage to propose to none other than the charming Major Laura Cadman (promoted twice for heroic deeds in the line of duty), despise the fiasco with Rodney's body (or perhaps because of it). And little Aiden, the baby of SGA-1 team, proposed just last week to Katie Heightmyer, of all people, and set a wedding date.

As Cupid ran amuck about his realm and Pandora's Box was closing, a single room in Atlantis was dark. It was occupied by only one person—the Angel of Death, or so he liked to think. All he loved was claimed by others, happiness eluded him unless he was surrounded by destruction, and ill things happened wherever he set foot. He was the Balance—for every laugh he gained a worry, for every blissful couple a pain. The mantra of his wrongs dominated every thought, the memory of sweetness eluded his mind but for a sad, sad song of wistful dreams.

John Sheppard had never been more alone.

Mwahahahahaha...depressing, eh? This is what happens with I break up with a boyfriend...ANNYway, enough about my personal life.

If you didn't feel like reading into this, YES, this did insinuatenotonlySheyla and Shweir, but Ronyla! Oh, andYES, John is the "Angel of Death". Cupid is himself, actually, not some effed up Wraith prancing around in...erm, let's not go there. It's all Alpha-Omega's fault! Anyway, I had fun with this one (Angst is good, yes?) And last but not least, the cry of the writer--review, please! I like reviews very, very much... –beg-
