Okay I lied…I was going to do my NHL fanfic next but then this idea popped into my mind. I cannot stand how the third POTC ended…I'm a Sparrabeth fan so I'm gonna write what I think should have happened after Elizabeth left Will on the island and Will went off to captain the Flying Dutchman. If you have NOT seen the ending of the 3rd movie AFTER THE END CREDITS please go to youtube and look it up before you read this! The story will make more sense if you see that one minute scene : ) Thanks! And enjoy!

NOTE: The title of this story and the lyrics in this chapter are by Nickelback

Elizabeth let out a shaky sigh as she climbed back on board the Black Pearl. She felt a huge wave of grief, loss and despair wash over her as she looked back out on the island and saw Will standing on the beach, waving goodbye to her. It would be another ten years before he would be able to see her again…ten long, painful, agonizing, torturous years. Those two hours they spent together on the beach would forever be ingrained in her memory…hours she would never be able to experience with him again for a decade. The thought was agonizingly unbearable. She felt her knees collapse as she crumpled to the deck in a heap of tears as a sharp pang of loneliness sliced through her broken heart.

Jack Sparrow winced a little when he saw Elizabeth fall on deck. His eyes reflected her grief as he bent over her, gently lifting her up and carrying her down into the galley of the ship. He couldn't stand to see her in so much pain. He wished desperately that he could do something to take it all away. The most he had been able to do for her was to allow Will to stab the heart of Davy Jones as he lay dying on the deck. At least now she could see him every ten years…that was better than never at all. But in this moment that didn't seem like it would be enough to ease the agonizing pain she was going through. If Jack could bring Will back…if he could save him from the servitude to the Flying Dutchman he would. He would do anything to make Elizabeth happy…even if that meant resurrecting Will and watching them live happily ever after while he remained alone, a lonely pirate captain on the Caribbean sea. But…that's what you do when you love someone…you sacrifice yourself so that they may live forever in happiness. But there was nothing left for Jack to do. Everything was said and done…all he could do now was take Elizabeth back to shore and find somewhere for her to live where she would be safe…

Three Years Later…

Elizabeth walked out of her small cabin-like home that back on a cliff that overlooked the sea. She crossed her arms over her chest and sighed with sadness and longing as she watched the sunset on another long, painful day without Will by her side.

A young boy ran up to her and hugged her around her legs. She smiled as she gazed down at him, the mirror image of his father, and reached down to pick him up.

"Are you sad again, Mommy?" he asked as his dark brown eyes studied her face.

Elizabeth smiled at the wisdom she could see in her two-year old son's eyes. He was every bit like his father, "A little…but you make it so much easier, you know."

The little boy smiled happily at that, "I know. Mommy…that's what you always say."

"And it's always true, William," she said as he sat him back down, "Come on now…let's go get you ready for bed."

William took off running back to the house, but Elizabeth stayed behind. She looked out over the sea again, this time, her thoughts drifting to another man she had left behind three years ago…Jack Sparrow. She wondered where the pirate captain was these days…what he was doing…who he was with…if he was okay. They had gone their separate ways three years ago after Will had died. Jack had taken the Black Pearl to the inlet she now lived above and showed her the abandoned house on the cliff. She told him she needed time to deal with things and he respected that. He left on his own accord with his crew and the Pearl…and never returned. She frowned at that, wondering why he had never come back. It would be nice to see him again. Aside from her son, Jack was the only one who reminded her of those days when she and Will were together. Jack was also the only one who would be able to understand her pain.

"Mommy!"

Elizabeth jumped a little as young William's cry jolted her from her thoughts, "Coming!" she called back as she turned to head back toward the house. She would have to put thoughts of Will and Jack aside for now. Her son needed her…

Jack sighed an uncharacteristically sad sigh as he watched the sun set from the helm of the Black Pearl. His dark, troubled eyes had a faraway look in them as he gazed out at the rolling sea. He was thinking about that day three years ago when Davy Jones had changed everything…the day he killed Will Turner and the day Jack saved him…sort of…for Elizabeth's sake. Elizabeth…that name brought back a myriad of emotions for the hardened captain. He felt his heart stir as he thought about how beautiful she was, especially when she laughed. Her eyes would light up and that smile…that smile could melt even the saltiest sea dog's heart. He wondered what she was doing now…if she was still at the cove…if she was okay.

"Captain?"

Jack jumped slightly in surprise and turned to face Mister Gibbs, "Aye, Gibbs? What is it?"

"Well you were just looking downcast, sir," said Gibbs good-naturedly, "Isn't like you to be so down. What's got yer into such a mood, Jack?"

Jack smiled sadly as he looked back out over the water, "The past."

"Aye," said Gibbs with a heavy sigh, "Past isn't a pretty one, eh?"

"The past…is a mottled one," said Jack heavily, "One with regrets…things left unsaid that should have been said but the sayer of the things unsaid chose not to say them fore he was 'fraid of what the hearer of the unsaid things would say if they so heard those things from the sayer."

Gibbs raised an eyebrow and wrinkled his forehead as he tried to follow his captain's train of thought, "Ah, I see…can these unsaid things be said now or has the moment long past?"

Jack glanced over at Gibbs and gave him a distant, scrutinizing look, "I…I'm not sure. I suppose it would depend on the hearer's current state of being and mind."

"And how would you go about learning what the hearer's state be?" pressed Gibbs, his curiosity peaked.

Jack sighed again, "The sayer would need to seek out the hearer of the unsaid things…and determine that for himself…then perhaps say what went unsaid long ago."

Gibbs smiled a little as he began to realize who and what the captain was trying to say, "Me thinks we should be setting sail for that cove we landed in about three years ago, eh?"

Jack frowned at that as a sudden rush of fear and uncertainty washed over him, "Perhaps the town close by…the hearer would visit there often."

"Aye, you are worried the hearer may see you coming and choose not to hear what went unsaid and instead flee?" said Gibbs, his eyes gleaming with understanding.

"Aye," said Jack quietly, "Gather the crew…tell them to set sail for Port Caolis. We leave immediately."

"Aye, aye captain!" said Gibbs, grinning happily as he ran off to follow Jack's orders.

"Ah, Lizzie," murmured Jack to himself, "I won't let you go this time…I won't be making that mistake ever again…"

Please Review!

Time, is going by, so much faster than I,
And I'm starting to regret not spending all of it with you.
Now I'm, wondering why, I've kept this bottled inside,
So I'm starting to regret not telling all of this to you.
So if I haven't yet, I've gotta let you know...

You're never gonna be alone
From this moment on, if you ever feel like letting go,
I won't let you fall...
You're never gonna be alone
I'll hold you 'til the hurt is gone.
And now, as long as I can, I'm holding on with both hands,
'Cause forever I believe that there's nothing I could need but you,
So if I haven't yet, I've gotta let you know...

You're never gonna be alone
From this moment on, if you ever feel like letting go,
I won't let you fall.
When all hope is gone, I know that you can carry on.
We're gonna see the world out,
I'll hold you 'til the hurt is gone.

Oh!
You've gotta live everysingleday,
Like it's the only one, what if tomorrow never comes?
Don't let it slip away,
Could be our only one, you know it's only just begun.
Every single day,
Maybe our only one, what if tomorrow never comes?
Tomorrow never comes...

Time, is going by, so much faster than I,
And I'm starting to regret not telling all of this to you.

I'm gonna be there always,
I won't be missing one more day,
I'm gonna be there always,
I won't be missing one more day.
