In this world which was made by his own whims, Shinji Ikari contemplated whether or not the death and rebirth of billions of people was Justified. What made him the avatar to the death of the world? He had killed billions with his decision and he would continue to be a martyr to all who return from the sea of LCL. His soul should be burning alongside his father's in the bowels of hell, but yet he is the first one to return from a failed oblivion.
He also questioned why she was the second to return. A rose with many thorns from her past, she laid there, silent with a solemn undamaged eye staring at what he had done. She was always a headache to him, far too abrasive for his hedgehog mentality. From the deck of Over the Rainbow, it was fate that connected herself to him. An idiot who could never help her, all he could do was apologize and pilot EVA. He was a pilot who was always better than her, the genius herself. He could defeat the angels with little to no effort, which always eluded her. Why can he Pilot so well when he is the most soft-spoken Baka she has ever met.
Why Asuka? She can't help me. She hates me and I hate her. Why does it have to be her? His anger grew to a boil and he began to strangle the battled scared girl, a cheap imitation of her former self. this has to justify it, Homicide is the best medicine.
Die Asuka, I can't stand you, why you, you can't help me and I can't help you. As he did this Asuka, the fiery red head known for her temper, did something unorthodox. She caressed his face, just as his mother did before then.
His "justified Homicide" was unfounded and he collapsed on the girl. "How disgusting, Shinji this is such an Ugly world…….Idiot" it reflects what I am as a human being and I can't stand it, so if you want to continue, kill me. If this is the world you made I will gladly return to death.
He rose to his feet and he smiled a wry smile. "The Asuka I know would never call herself ugly and if she wanted to die she would have gave up a long time ago, so don't talk like that…..Idiot"
With that the two sat up and watched the waves break on the sand of the scarred terrain. If you can go on I suppose that, I the Great Asuka Langley Sohryu can live along with you, but I warn you third chi…. I mean shinji, if you try that choking thing again I will kill you myself.
I'm sorry, but at least I have my Asuka back…..
