For Mother
All we wanted was Mother,
The reason she died was all Father's fault,
He was never home,
Never around, at all,
I believe she died of heartache.
I am the eldest brother,
I now have many responsibilities,
How am I supposed to take care of Al and me?
The answer,
Plain and simple,
I don't.
I will bring back Mother.
Together my brother and I mixed the proper ingredients,
Down to the last substance everything was perfect,
We took a deep breath and plunged into unknown territory.
You see a human transmutation has never been successful,
Every alchemist that attempted has died a horrible painful death.
For Al and me,
This was a piece of cake,
Or so I thought.
A yellow light turned a pinkish purple,
I knew something had gone awry.
I then heard Al screaming my name,
Pain shot through me,
The only thought going though my mind was,
Save Al.
Bloody and battered I passed out,
Not knowing if I was going to live or die.
