Riku and Xion were sitting outside of Namine's bedroom on the chairs, waiting for Aqua to let them come inside to check on Namine. Xion was felt tense and her hand squeezed into a fist and she closed her eyes. She wanted to find Roxas for Namine so that she along with everyone else would be happy. But ever since she learned that people who weren't from the world where Roxas's was in could never live a single day there, she understood completely on how Axel felt about not being to stay with Roxas. She wished that she could be with Roxas too. Xion missed her old friend terribly.
"You thinking about him again?" Riku asked, breaking the cold and tense silence.
Xion was shocked by Riku's question and turned flustered. "Y-Yeah of course! He's our friend after all." She turned her head slightly away so that Riku wouldn't see her reddened face.
Riku looked at Xion and then put his hand on her closed fist. Xion's fist slowly relaxed and she felt her heart pounding fast. "So I guess you still have feelings for him," Riku said quietly in a low whisper.
"What are you saying?" Xion turned her head around and exclaimed. "He's only a close friend that I really care about!"
Riku said nothing and looked blankly at the ground. A little angered and shocked by what Riku had said, she countered. "I guess you still have feelings for Kairi even though she decided to be with Sora instead."
"I don't have feelings for her!" Riku raised his voice, his eyes turning fierce. Xion flinched. Noticing Xion's reaction, he lowered his tone. "She's only a friend now, a good friend. And I don't want our friendship to break." Riku sounded a little sad and Xion had never seen Riku like this before. Then she put her hand on top of his and smiled. "Don't worry Riku. I'm sure you'll find that perfect person soon!"
Riku looked up at her and Xion could feel her heart pounding. Why was it pounding so fast? Then he smiled, for the first time, he smiled for real. It was an amazing smile and Xion was dazed by it and she could feel her cheeks turning pink. She felt her cheeks tingling as Riku bent over closer to Xion. Xion closed her eyes and thought to herself, "okay keep calm, keep calm!"
Then she opened her eyes and caught Riku's head turned away and his face was red, too. She immediately blushed pinker. Then Riku turned to look deep into her blue eyes and said with a smile. "I've already found that perfect person. And she's right in front of me."
Speechless, Xion bit her lip thinking of what to say. Before she liked Roxas a lot and once she realized her feelings for Roxas, she was already too late since Namine and he announced their relationship. She was happy for them, but heartbroken that she didn't have the courage to confess. And once Riku had told her that he had found the perfect person, Xion knew instantly that she had feelings for him. Then with a tear rolling down her cheek and her mouth shaping into a perfect smile, she said. "I've found that person, too. And we are already together."
And as they came closer and closer to each other, their lips touched and they kissed. Xion had never had felt this happy in her life.
