It was a gorgeous sight. The most wonderful thing I had ever seen. And the sounds…oh, the sounds of those women screaming was like music to my ears. They were screaming for help, for mercy, for the lives of their children. Their prayers, however, would go unanswered. Just like the begging my mother did while she watched her baby boy being cast off the edge of a cliff.
At my request Hiei burnt it all to the ground.
I think, at first, that beautiful fire demon was confused that I had requested such a malicious thing. I had wanted him to take me there too. I wanted to watch it burn.
Their suffering was …comforting. It made me happy to know that not they were suffering just as we did.
It wasn't until I noticed the look in his eyes that I realized the truth. He looked so pleased to see this place finally being destroyed, like a weight had been lifted. That was when I knew that he was my brother. Or, that was when I was sure of it, rather.
I threw my arms around him and nuzzled into his shoulder.
"Thank you, Hiei."
