She was surprised at how easy it was after he taught her how, and together they surfed the great green highway all throughout the forest.

Whenever she is working for hours on end, refusing stubbornly to take any type of break, he sneaks up behind her, grabs her around the waist, and carries her out of their treehouse and into the jungle canopy, where he would proceed to shower her with kisses which, giggling madly, she returned.

After a few painful attempts, Turk decided to leave the branch-surfing to Tarzan and Jane. The memory of that last attempt still made him shiver and rub his behind sympathetically.

The jungle animals, having already held respect for Tarzan, their protector, quickly learned to respect Jane as well. The lengths Tarzan went through during the crocodile incident got that point across thoroughly.

Tarzan had once tried to teach Jane how to river-surf. But even with Tantor holding onto the large piece of bark from under the water, Jane still fell in multiple times. She later remarked to Tarzan that she would stick to branch-surfing, thank you very much.

When they kissed the first time, she didn't really feel anything from him except surprise. But when he returned her kiss, it felt like her heart was soaring through the clouds. When they finally broke apart, (due to a mutual need for oxygen), she couldn't keep that silly expression off of her face.

She was never the loving type. All the boys and men she knew were all so stuffy and boring. She certainly wasn't looking for love in the jungle, but when she met him, he fascinated her. He was just so different from everyone else that she felt attracted to him, first out of curiosity, and then out of something … else.

He was always an outsider. The gorillas didn't accept him, even though all he wanted to be was a gorilla, a part of the group. Clayton and his men didn't accept him as a human, and he was sure, at first, that she felt the same way. But when she came back, and flung herself into his arms, he realized that there is a middle ground and maybe, just maybe, it was big enough for two.

Kala smiled as she took the two blooming flowers from Tarzan and Jane. It was obvious in the way he looked at her and the way he held her that he was smitten, and Kala was heartened to see that she felt the same way, and that her son has finally found where he belongs.

Turk had been trying for some time to toughen Tantor up, mainly so he wouldn't be embarrassed every time Tantor reacts like a scared kit to a weird noise. But when Turk stole Tantor's favorite horn, he quickly realized what the true meaning of "rampage" was.
