Chapter 1 -
The stars shone in the cloudless sky and as the sliver of the moonlight reflected on the rippleless surface of the lake two people waltzed in the dark.
The music of the ballroom filled their heads with visions of dreams and far away galaxies as Rose and her doctor danced hand in hand on the balcony.
"I feel so happy when I'm with you and yet I still don't know you, the new you",the young woman said.
She wore a white sequined dress which fitted her figure perfectly and flowed with every movement she made. Her hair was hung loosely and blowing with the gentle breeze of the calm wind. Her partner pulled her close and entwined his fingers with hers. She staired into his eyes, those beautiful blue eyes and breathed in the familiar scent of leather,
"Don't worry", he whispered, "You'll get to know me soon enough" and he lent into her and pressed a delicate kiss on her cheek,
"I have to go"
"Please! Stay with me!",
He smiled at her. God that smile! That goofy, lopside smile that she missed so much,
"I can't"
Rose felt the fear and anger build up,
"Why did you leave me?! I miss you so much!", he cuddled her as she cried into his shoulder, "Can't you change back?"
"You know I can't", he soothed,
"I don't know what to do..."
He moved her head so she was looking at him,
"It's still me, it's just that a few things have changed",
"Am I ever going to see you again?"
He bowed and kissed her hand, "Some day".
"I love you", she whispered,
"I know and...I love you too, still! Even in my new form I still love you it's just that this one is an arrogant pretty boy who won't admit it to himself", she laughed and grinned,
He walked down the stone steps, brushing the bush that grew up the side with his hand and he gave her one swift smile then he was gone,
"Goodbye, my doctor"
"Doctor..."
He rolled over and covered his face with his arm. He'd fallen asleep in the libary again, his feet perched on the table and a book in some random alien language was laying on his lap,
"Doctor..."
"No! You can't...You...",Rose frowned and was about to wake him when,
"Supernoodles? Well if you insist!"
Rose fell into silent fits of giggles, trying so hard not to laugh. She was so caught up in the laughter she didn't see the Doctor open his eyes,
"Talking in my sleep again wasn't I", he smiled. Rose calmed herself down and hit him with a big grin,
"Last week it was ' You do know I'll just eat my way out of this marmalade' and now it's Supernoodles!"
He sat up and straightened his horn-rimmed glasses,
"Not my fault!"
Rose giggled and pointed to his face. He looked at her confused, "What?"
She got a crumpled tissue out of her jeans pocket and rubbed the side of his mouth, "Slaverer!",
"Is that even a word?"
"No idea!"
"You humans and your weird lingo!"
She helped him out of his chair, taking the book of his lap and placing it open on it's pages on the table and led him to the kitchen,
"You want anything?"
He sat down at the dining table and took off his glasses, placing them in their rightful place inside his jacket pocket, "Tea would be nice"
Rose rolled her eyes, "Solution to everything", she mumbled and switched on the kettle,
"So where do you fancy going then?"
"Dunno. Got any ideas?"
The doctor thought for a minute, "How about...Dianica? Lovely place and they sell the best bits and bobs in the world, no make that the universe!"
Rose placed the cups on the table and sat next to him, "Bits and Bobs? What do you mean?"
"I mean if you need anything they'll have it! Example, if you asked for a coathanger from 1875 they would have one!"
"What would you want with a coathanger from 1875?"
"It's an example Rose"
She took a sip from her tea, "Go on then! Dianica it is then!"
"Fantastic!", he ran off to the control room to set the coordinates.
Rose had a bad feeling about this. Something wasn't right but she couldn't tell what yet...
