In this story, Kurenai and Kakashi weren't friends, but enemies, you'll see for yourself

Kurenai has always bullied every Jonin since back at the Academy, but whom she bullied the most is none other Kakashi Hatake. She harassed him, mocked him, and even humiliated him, which is a reason why Kakashi doesn't talk to her so much, but he's always nice to her, no one knew why she even does this, I mean, she comes from a rich family, she's living her life like a princess, she's good in most of her classes and she's a whole lot more, why bully everyone, especially Kakashi? We're sorta about to find out...
Kakashi was sitting on the park bench and saw Kurenai passing by
"Hi Kure-" Kakashi greeted her, but before he even finished, she insulted him
"Hi, masked freak!" she yelled, Kakashi expected an insult from her everytime he tried to greet her politely, but he followed her anyway to start a conversation with her
"So, how's life?" he asked her
"Good, how's your life, miserable as usual?" Kurenai said
"Um...I guess"
"You know how annoying you are to be with?"
"Well, because of you I know"
"Good, well, get out of my way" Kurenai pushed Kakashi out of the way and walked on
Totally expected from her...as always, he thought
At night
Kakashi was passing by the park on the way home, there, he saw Kurenai sitting on the park bench upset...like she's thinking about something......or someone
"Kurenai, what're you doing here late at night?" he asked her
"Why should you care?" she replied coldly
"Hey, I'm trying to be nice to you"
"Well, I don't need your kindness, jerk"
"You're the real jerk here" he mumbled in his breath
"What did you say?!"
"Oh, you wanna know what I said, I said YOU'RE THE REAL JERK HERE!! You only care about yourself!!! What did I and the others do to you?! I try to be nice to you and find out what's going on but you keep insulting me, what did I do to YOU to deserve this!?There's something wrong with YOU, not US" he yelled, Kurenai's never seen him like this
"Um....sorry about that, I just got mad and...I'm just sorry" he apologized
"It's...ok" Kurenai said, Kakashi was a bit surprised, there was no insult, no comeback and most importantly, no punch this time. Kakashi sat down next to Kurenai and she kept thinking about what he said a while ago
"Kakashi...you said you wanted to know why I bully you guys...right?" Kurenai said
"Yeah" he replied
"Well, I did all that to get everyone's attention, and mostly...your attention, because...I really...like you" Kurenai blushed when finishing her sentence, and so did Kakashi
"Oh, if you wanted attention so badly, you could've just talked to someone nicely"
"Oh, well, it's kinda too late for that"
"Um, not really...'coz...I like you too"
Kakashi lifted Kurenai's chin up and he took off his mask, Kurenai was amazed by this, he never took off his mask...unless he wanted to eat that is, Kakashi didn't move anymore because it was already Kurenai who was about to lean in. Their lips finally touched and they kissed for a few seconds, but they savoured those moments, and they finally backed away from each other..still blushing
"Don't tell anyone about this" Kurenai said
"Don't worry so much...this moment is safe with us...and only us"
Now, Kakashi knows why...
