The sands blew fiercely in the deserts surrounding the Valley of the King. From a distance, all one could see was desert. Barren land.

But examined closely, one could see life. Numerous oases, with their lush palm trees and sparkling water, villages of many people, and fertile land full of many crops. One could also see Egypt's most prominent feature- The Pharaoh's palace.

It was like a glittering gem in the sand, regal and majestic. Blending in with the unique beauty of its surroundings with steps leading into the palace, and colossal pillars, white, made of marble.

In the throne room, two young mean spoke.

The Pharaoh Yami sat in the center, and to the right of him, High Priest Seth.

"Seth," began the Pharaoh affably, "You really should settle down."

Seth looked at him irritably. "Absolutely not."

The Pharaoh hid a grin, "and why would that be?"

Seth smirked arrogantly. "Because, Pharaoh, no girl is good enough for me. And judging by the fact that *you* are still single, I'm guessing you feel the same way."

The Pharaoh laughed kindly, "No, Seth. It isn't that. I just...haven't found the right person. So I guess for now, we are two eligible bachelors."

All of a sudden, the door creaked open.

A young girl, of similar age to the Pharaoh and the High Priest, walked in. She had long, silky raven hair, deep, azure eyes, and an unnervingly calm disposition. She wore a white, sleeveless off the shoulder gown, adorned with sparkling gold jewelry at the waist and just below the neck.

A High Priestess herself, she was Isis Ishtar.

"My Pharaoh?" She began; her voice was melodious and lilted.

Seth gazed at her dazzling blue eyes, her angelic features, and her slim, exquisite figure.

"Seth," Isis started, gracefully turning her gaze to him. "Why are you looking at me?"

Seth shook his head, caught of guard. "I err, well was looking at how shockingly ugly you looked. I didn't realize anyone could achieve such repulsiveness. Guess I was mistaken."

The Pharaoh chuckled warmly, "What was it you wanted, Isis?"

"My Pharaoh, I have completed the task you asked of me."

"Supplying the people with fresh water? Excellent, Isis. Is that all?"

"Yes, Pharaoh. Is there anything more you wish me to do?"

"No, Isis, you may leave now."

Isis left, with a hint of a smile on her face as she thought of Seth's quick retort.

The High Priest Seth was aghast. He felt so different. His heart was racing, and his stomach churned uneasily. Never- never had he felt an attraction to anyone like this. It was so...odd.

"Seth," the Pharaoh said in a laughing tone. "You really should learn to be more cooperative with your co-workers, you know. For Ra's sake, Isis has the same job as you! At least try to be kind to the people you work with!"

Seth, lost in thought, managed a weak smile then turned away. He needed time to sort out his feelings...
