Why? Why, why, why? Why the fuck did I come here? I'm such an idiot. I'm too trusting. I trust the world to keep me safe and it never does.

This is the worst.

My name is Dee Biscotti. I'm 15 years old and I'm an idiot. An idiot with too much time on her hands, you see. A love for danger, too, I guess. I traveled all the way here to Colorado after reading online about this supposedly abandoned old asylum. A scary building in the middle of nowhere that nobody dares to visit. Those who have tried eventually turned back, because apparently all reception and connection to the outside world cuts off a few miles off destination. Who knows if any of that is true - but I'd be damned if I didn't waste my time being the first to get there. Even if just for a few creepy pictures.

And damned I am.

Let's go back a bit. I can't believe I got directions to this place - thank you, internet. I guess I was the only genius that thought to print out a map, because Lord knows I don't care if my phone cuts out. I rented a bike, as silly as that seems, and made my way to the "asylum".

Civilization quickly became nothing. It was just straight country, flat lands, and I could see some serene mountains in the distance. Eerie... It made sense to put a home for the criminally insane way out somewhere.

From the nearest town, it would take several hours of biking. I hoped it was worth it. Two hours in, I stopped to check the time on my phone. I had the time, but it was true - absolutely no reception. If some freak accident were to happen to me now, I'd be dead. God damn. Whose fault was this? I couldn't turn back now...

Fixing the bag on my back, I pedaled on. I was always the tough tomboy, so a day of biking didn't really affect me. It was nice, actually. Plus it gave me an excuse for leg day. But geez, it took forever to get to this place.

It was 7 PM before I saw anything. There, in the distance. Some big brown blob in the slight shape of a house. A big, big house. Score. That had to be it. When I got closer, I checked my map and directions. I even had some little pictures for reference. Yes, this was definitely the place.

Mount Massive Asylum.
