This is just a quicjk one shot I put together in about ten minutes. Hope you like :).
Kohaku tightnened his grip on the single sacred jewel shard that he had recently obtained.
Please, Sister. Let my vision reach you. If it doesn't, I'm not sure I will be able to go on anymore…
(Sango's POV)
Sango layed on the ground next to Kirara under the shining stars.
It was the middle of the night, and everyone was sleeping, even Inuyasha.
But Sango just couldn't sleep. She had her mind filled with images of Kohaku slaughtering her fellow demon slayers.
Suddenly, a powerful force grasped Sango's mind.
She gasped, but the power overwhelmed her, and forced her deep into a dream world…
Sango woke in a field of flowers.
She stood up.
Is this a dream? Sango thought. No, it feels nothing at all like a dream. But if it isn't a dream, then what is it!
Sango had believed she was alone in the field, when suddenly; Kohaku appeared directly in front of Sango.
"Kohaku?" She said softly.
"Sister… I have much to explain to you…"
Tear's filled Sango's eyes. "It must be a dream…"
"No! It's not a dream!" Kohaku said frantically.
"Then what is it?"
"Sango…" Kohaku murmured with tears shining at the edge of his eyes.
"Naraku has been controlling me… He's forcing me to kill kind, innocent people! I still have conscious while he is controlling me, so I know what I am doing to those people… But I can't do a single thing about it! I just can't take it anymore!" Kohaku sobbed.
Sango pulled Kohaku into an embrace. "Does that mean… You remember everything from your old life as a demon slayer… And as my brother?"
Kohaku nodded. "I only got my memories back very recently… Before that, I had no idea who I was, or what my purpose was… But Sister… I don't mean to kill these innocent people! I don't!"
"I know… Kohaku…"
"I'm going to keep pretending that I have not regained my memories… And I will try to get closer to Naraku to kill him. I want you to be happy, sister, But I don't deserve any happiness… Not after how many people I have killed…"
"Yes you do, Kohaku! You never meant to kill all those people! I promise that after I defeat Naraku, I will find a way for you to live without the sacred jewel shard!"
Kohaku and Sango shared their last moments together hugging tightly in silence.
Slowly, the jewels power faded and the dream world disappeared.
Sango woke up, tears still in her eyes.
Kohaku, I'm not sure if what I just experienced was a dream, or something else. But I will find a way for you to live without your sacred jewel shard!
