Jackson's POV:

As snow fell, Renee, Mama, and I were setting up the picnic, until I saw our special tree, The Dream Tree. I ran to it with Renee following me. "Jack, you can't have fun all the time!" Mama laughed. I made a silly face at her and ran to the tree. I sit on the tree stump and hang upside down. Renee, at first, looked scared and worried, but then laughed. I smiled and laughed too.

"Jack, get down from there!" I heard Renee laugh. I jump down and land on my feet. "How?!"

"How what?" I ask. She looks at me and points to the tree. "Oh, you mean hang upside down?"

"YES!" Renee said with frustration and laughter. "YOU MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY! HOW?!"

I laugh, ruffling with her hair. "Well, it takes tons of practice and practice every day to perfect."

"Yeah, right," she scoffed. I nod in full seriousness. She goes pale. "Oh, you're not joking."

"CHILDREN!" We hear Mama call for us. "LUNCHTIME!" We look at each other, smirking. Renee's POV:

I look at Jack with a smirk. Together, we race to Mama. I, of course, won, like always. They didn't call me Flee for nothing; I'm the fastest runner in the family! Faster than Jack, that's for sure! Once we made it to Mama, Jack collapses on the blanket. "Were you two racing each other again?" We look at each other, then laugh. "I'll take that as a yes." Jack suddenly stomps towards me and I hide behind Mama, giggling. Jack grabs me and puts me upside down and tickles me. I giggle, then start laughing hard. Mama then joined in with us. "Let's eat, children."

"Yes, Mama." We sit down and eat. A few hours later, I fall asleep on Jack's lap, smiling at him. Third Person POV:

Jack leaned against a tree, put his cloak on Renee, and watched the sunset with his mother by his side. "We should be getting home, my boy," his mother said. Jack nodded and picked Renee up, placing her on his shoulders, letting her rest on his head, and holding her by her legs. Their mother packed up the picnic blanket, gently folding it inside in the basket, and together, they headed back to the house. Once home, Renee woke up and headed to the barn to have some fun before going to bed. They played with their hands, making hand shadow puppets. Renee laughed. Renee looked at her brother's finger intertwine together, making the shape of a dog. She tried to do the same but failed. Jack grabbed her fingers and showed her how to do it. Later, the two headed back to the house, changed, prayed by their bed, and went to sleep. Their mother kissed their foreheads as the Guardians entered the room. "Tomorrow's Christmas Day," she said. "He deserves a nice gift for all he's done for Renee." North smiled and put a gift inside the stocking.

Jackson's POV:

The next morning, I awoke early, not realizing it was Christmas Day, but, of course, I didn't really mind. I walked out the door of my room and smiled as Renee was still sleeping. I went to Mama's room, kissed her forehead, got dressed, went downstairs, ate a small breakfast, and headed outside on the side of our small cabin home. I leaned against the wall and put a hand on my chin, looking down. I felt tears threating to escape, but I blink them away. Why did you have to go, Papa? I thought to myself. We could've found a cure for your cancer, but alas, we couldn't. On the best day of the year, we lost you, and it was all because we failed to find a cure. Suddenly, I hear a voice. "Jackson…" I heard the voice say, softly. "You did your best..." I look. Renee's POV:

I stirred in my sleep as I felt the sun's rays hit my face. I moaned and turned away from it. Suddenly, I realize it's Christmas Day! I sit up and turn to Jack, but he was gone; I head to Mama's room. "MAMA, WAKE UP!" I say, excited. She wakes up. "IT'S CHRISTMAS!" I run into her arms. She twirls me around; I squeal in delight. We head downstairs and see…Papa… Third Person POV:

Jack looks up and sees his father smiling warmly with open arms. Tears well up in Jack's eyes as he runs into his father's open arms, hugging him tightly, tears of joy streaming down his face. Suddenly, the door opened, and all that was heard was complete silence. Soft sobs of shocks were heard from their mother. She covered her mouth. "J-James…i-is…that…you?" He smiled warmly. "JAMES!" She ran into his arms and he twirled her around. "IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!" Renee ran into her father's arms, knocking him to the ground, hugging him tightly. Jackson's POV:

I smiled as Renee and I opened our Christmas gifts. Her smile widened as she ripped open the wrapping gift over the shoe-shaped gift; when she opened it, she nearly fell back, but I caught her in time. They were ice skates! She looked up at Mama and Papa; they smile and she runs to them, hugging them tightly. I open my gift and see a pair of ice skates and a staff…Papa's staff. I look up at Papa with tears in my eyes. I run and hug him tightly. This is the best Christmas ever. Renee's POV:

I looked at Jack with a smile. "Jack, can we go ice skating now?" I show him my new ice skates. "Like right now?" He chuckled and played with my hair. I giggled and pulled his hand away. I pull him to the door; Mama and Papa follow us with a smile. I giggle and tug on him again.

"Be careful," I heard them in unison. Jack turned to them and chuckled as I pulled on him again.

"We will!" He chuckled as he looked at me, then looked back at Mama and Papa, smiling. Finally, after tugging him to the lake behind us, I put on my ice skates on. We reached for the water, but…it was beginning to crack underneath me. I look up at Jack in fear. He was bent down, reaching for his skates. He reached his hand out. "Don't look down, just look at me…"

Third Person's POV:

As Jack and Renee were outside on the lake playing, James sat down next to his wife in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate, and a book in hand. She held the cup with both hands and snuggled against his chest with the blanket wrapped tightly around them. James smiled warmly at her and looked at the fireplace as it crackled and pop. He then remembered something and turned to his wife. "Emily?" She looked up at him, her eyes sparkling and her breath smoked again as she took another sip from her cup of hot chocolate. He froze, blushing, and took in her beautiful sight; ever since his death 7 years ago from cancer, Emily kept a portrait of him hanging above the fireplace, where they sat now, and James, after seeing Jackson for the first time in a long time, couldn't believe how much his son had grown. It made him happy to see him again. His daughter, Renee, had also grown into a beautiful, young lady. She was only 2 when he died, but she knew him once she saw him and she hugged him tightly with all his might. Emily slightly nudged James, seeing that her husband was in some sort of trace. He shook his head, cleared his throat, and chuckled. He grabbed a small box from his pocket and pulled out a small, snowflake shaped necklace and put it around her neck. She gasped in awe at the necklace and smiled warmly at him, then kissed his lips. She gasped in excitement, held up a finger, and put her cup down. James smiled and leaned back on his arms, against the couch. A few moments later, she held out a small locket necklace that had a portrait of him, her, Jackson, and Renee. James looked at it, tears in his eyes. Emily smiled and put it around his neck; he turned to her and kissed her forehead. She rests her head on him with the cup of hot chocolate in hand, he puts his arm around her and smiled warmly. Nothing could possibly ruin this precious moment now… Jackson's POV:

I reach slowly down and removes the second of two rudimentary ice-skates, leaving me barefoot on the surface of the frozen lake. I look at Renee, who stands in her skates, rooted to the spot. A spider's web of cracks emanates from where she stands. I look down, and then back at her again.

"Jack, I'm scared!" Renee said, fear in her voice and eyes. CRAACCCKKK! I hear the ice below her crack and see it splinter more. She wobbles, keeping her balance as it starts to separate.

"I know, I know...but you're gonna be alright. You're not gonna fall in," I say as I try and calm her down, then an idea hits me and I stand up straighter. "We're gonna have a little fun instead!"

"No, we're not!" Renee cried. I looked at her and continued to balance myself on the cracked ice.

"Would I trick you?" I said. She looked at me, her face red with anger, frustration…and fear…

"Yes! You always play tricks!" Renee cried. "I HATE IT! MAMA AND PAPA DO TOO!"

I chuckle. "Well, alright. Well, not, not this time. I promise. I promise you're gonna be...you're gonna be fine." I fix my gaze...holds it...there's nothing but the two of us. "You have to believe in me." Renee pauses a moment, then smiles through her fear. And just like that, my demeanor changes. A light is switched on inside me and the last thing that could be happening is actually happening. I become playfully casual to make the situation a little lighter and more fun. "You wanna play a game? We're gonna play Hopscotch! Like we play every day!" Renee looks more reassured. Good. That's the smile I want to see! "It's as easy as...one...whoaaaa!" And I show Renee the first leap, but mugs for her, almost losing my balance then catching myself. She laughs. "Two..." I jump to a safe spot. "Three!" I turn toward her with my arms spread out. "Alright..." I reach down to pick up my staff lying on the ice. I extend it towards her – "Now it's your turn." Renee looks down. She is trying to gather her courage. I never breaking his gaze with her. "One..." She hops, wobbling, but catching her balance. "That's it, that's it...two..." She's almost there; my staff is just beyond her reach! "Three!" She got closer and I pull her to safety. Renee's POV:

I grab hold of Jack's staff and in one massive effort, he slings me with all his might to safety, but the movement propels him into the cracked ice. He looks up to see me safe - smiles - and then plunges into the dark cold water. I run to him, reaching out my hand…it's too late…"JACK!" Jack falls back into the icy water. SPLASH! I fall to my knees, tears streaming down my face. I look at the broken ice where Jack fell in.I look around and realize that I'm all alone. I take a deep breath, stand up shaking, grab my skates, and walk home, leaving Jack's skates and staff as a memory for his sacrifice. I go inside, close the door shut, and run to my room, crying hard…

Third Person POV:

It was a few hours after Renee ran home, crying in her room. Her parents knocked on the door. They call her. No response. They knock the door and gently open the door to see their daughter curled up in the corner, her nose stuck in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and tears streaming down her face. They go to her; she looks up at them, tears streaming down her face. "Jack's…dead," Renee wept. "He drowned in the lake when we went ice skating today. I couldn't save him. The ice was thin on my side and he swung me to safety…and…drowned…"

It was a few hours after Renee and told her parents of Jack's death. Suddenly, as the moon rose up in the sky, so did a young man, a 17-year-old, Jackson Overland. He now went by the name of Jack Frost. The ice broke open and he rose out of the cold, icy water, gasping for air. His eyes were locked on the moon as he gently was brought down on the now closed area of ice where he fell in. He smiled warmly at the moon, but, as he did, his chest began to glow and 3 other figures appeared: Entity (Jack's "Dark Side"), Jacky McMacky (his Irish self), and Winter Prince. Entity looked around, growled in anger, cussing, and disappeared in Pitch's lair. Jacky McMacky began to talk in slur gibberish of some sort before falling on the ice (thankfully, not through the ice!). Jack and Winter Prince helped Jacky McMacky get up and then looked at each other in confusion. Are we rising into Jackson Overland? They got off the ice and headed to the village. Entity's POV:

DAMN! HE'S DEAD! FUCKING GREAT! STUPID JACKSON'S DEAD! AND NOW I'M HERE WITH WINTER SHIT AND FROST ASS. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH THAT HELL OF A DRUNK MAN, MCMACKY! I FUCKING HATE THAT DUDE! IF I CAN KILL THAT STUPID TWERP, I WOULD! I LOOK AT PITCH AS HE DOES HIS "JOB". I'M JUST STANDING HERE! DOING NOTHING! "Bring her here to me," I HEAR PITCH SAY. FUCKING FINALLY! "Bring Renee Overland to me. I NOD AND FLY OFF. I'M COMING FOR YOU, RENEE! YOU BETTER FUCK THAT SHIT YOU CALL "BROTHER!" YOU BETTER BE…READY! YOU AND THE REST OF THEM "FAMILY!"

Winter Prince POV:

As we walk into the village, I hear screaming. It was Renee! Jack and I look at each other. "Was that Renee?!" Jack asked. I nod and see Mama and Papa running outside, screaming for Entity to bring Renee back. Jack flies off to find her and I go to Mama and Papa with Jacky McMacky.

"Is…gone…Renee," I hear McMacky say. They turn to us and look at Jack in confusion.

"I'll explain later," I say. "You need to bring him in. I point to Jacky McMacky and they help him in. I go inside the house and look at the portrait of me and Renee when I was still human on our picnic trip and sigh in defeat. "I've failed you, Renee…I let Entity to take you away." I see Jacky McMacky with Mama and Papa. They hug me tightly. "We have to save Renee. Jack can't do it alone." They hug me tighter and I cry in their arms. "He can't do this alone. Renee can't…"

"Don't worry, my son," Mama said, kissing my forehead. "We will find them. Both of them…"

"And we will defeat Entity boy while we're at it, too," Papa said with confidence in his voice.

"I stay and I nnnnnngggghhhhhh….." Jacky McMacky fell over a flower pot and fell asleep.

Mama and Papa look at me. "Uh…put him to bed. Look over him. Take care of him." They nod.

Jack's POV:

I flew faster and faster still until I heard Renee screaming. "JACK, STOP IT! PLEASE! STOP!"

"FOR THE LAST…FUCKING…TIME!" I heard Entity scream. "I…AM…NOT…JACK!" I see him slap her hard across the face, making her fly, and hit the wall, hard. "JUST! LISTEN!"

Renee's POV:

I hit the wall hard and slump to the ground. Tears stream down my face. Ever since my Jack drowned, this version of him – the evil version of him – has been torturing me. I just want my Jack back, my big brother. Suddenly, I see a young boy with white hair and blue eyes. Jack? He comes up to me and hugs me tightly. He turns to Entity and freezes him; ice shatters all over the place, but Jack shields me with his body. I look at him and hug him tightly, tears streaming down my face. I feel him hug me back. "Don't worry…you're safe now, Renee. I promise. Let's go home." I nod and go on his back. Once on his back, we fly home where I see Mama and Papa with…two…other…Jacks. I look at Jack. Are these all of his different personalities?! I think to myself. The Winter Prince Jack looks at me and kisses my hand and the Irish Jack just faints. I giggle a little to myself. I look around; where's my Jack? Jackson Overland…is he still…dead?

Third Person POV:

With Entity finally dead, there was only one thing left to do: get the real Jackson Overland back. How are they gonna do this though? Suddenly, a light shines and a young boy appears…Jackson Overland. The Jacks, his parents, and Renee all turn and see him. At first, there was nothing, but silence. Jackson smiles. "I'm back." Jesus appears in a glow of bright light. They all bow to Him. Jesus smiled and looked at Winter Prince and Jacky McMacky; they look back at Him and smile. He goes up to the boys and they go to Him. With a touch of His finger on Jackson's chest, the boys smile and go back into Jackson…being one person again. Jesus smiles and goes to Heaven.

Jackson's POV:

I smile as Jesus ascended to Heaven and then turn my family. I sigh and take a deep breath. It's nice to be me once again. Renee runs into my arms and I hug her tightly. I look around and see that the tree didn't have the star on it. I look at Renee. "Wanna put the star on the tree, Renee?"

She nods. I smile, pick her up and help her put the star on the tree. Once I put her on my shoulders, Mama and Papa come to us and we watch the star on the tree shine brightly. Today was the best…Christmas…ever. I look at the Nativity and smile at the Baby Jesus figure. It looked as though it was smiling back at me. I walk up to it and kiss it. "Merry Christmas, Jesus."
