Author Note: I will state this outright: Dragon Ball Super has too many problems. This includes part of the narrative of episode 129 and 130. However, speaking in Discord with some friends, I came up with a What-If scenario for this power.

This is a retelling of the Tournament of Power from a very unique perspective while writing my own version of the events.

In the grand cosmos of creation, there is no race that is as mysterious as the angels. These beings have existed since the dawn of creation alongside the dragons, serving the grand Omni-King. The Omni-King is a unique being, born out of a mysterious life force that gives life to the entire plane of existence.

These entities, following the great will of this force, create and destroy through the power of the Gods of Destruction and Gods of Creation in all the different universes.

However, the angels have tried to teach about the power of this life force through the eons to the gods, as they were born through it, but alas, no god ever managed to completely control it.

On the 3,135,500,603 day of the Royal Calendar though, someone would.

A mortal.

A man.

We've always been around, but our presence is stronger the moment the plane of existence is altered.

We sensed an evil entity with a strong will, fueled by anger and hatred over the mortal realm, affecting every place in time for the purpose of taking control over everything. However, something delayed it from advancing further. When we came to, there were two of them: two entities of the same being that destroyed the evil entity.

There was peace, but, these two entities were planning on destroying everything for the purpose of making a test on the mortal realm. Will the mortals be as selfish as the evil entity thought when a wish beyond their power and strength should be granted in a tournament?

The answer was: yes.

We can grant our strength only to the angels, who can feel our presence through the wind as oxygen. Even though the destroyers have tried to use our strength for countless eons, very few have been capable of, as their power go through their head and feel our presence s unnecessary.

However, there was a man who trained with an angel and had the presence of the gods within himself. Mortals can become gods if they please, but never go beyond the level of a destroyer out of arrogance, fear or a wicked sense of humbleness. Yet, this person kept pushing forward.

During the Tournament, when two universes were erased, this man fought against a powerful warrior with a selfish wish to bring back someone dear to him, whose power went beyond the realm of the gods. The man tried everything to defeat the warrior, yet he couldn't do anything to him.

At the best moment, the man used techniques of the gods to generate as much power as he could.

Yet, the warrior was stronger than that, and the man was consumed by his power.

The man was close to understanding our presence at that moment.

So, we intervened.

Reborn like a phoenix, the man felt something no mortal ever experienced.

He saw the warrior determined, without understanding our presence.

He allowed us to control his body. We wanted to test him first.

We went against the warrior, with a speed neither of them could ever experience on their own. To our surprise, the warrior defended successfully against our presence. The man was still confused, seeing his hands trying to understand what was going on.

He went against the warrior and his allies, but he still refused to fully allow us to control him, and in frustration he attacked the warrior ignoring us.

We decided to left him, as he was an arrogant fool.

He was left to die for insulting us, but his ally healed him and he returned to fight during the tournament. He fought against two youths with immense potential, with one of them having a demonic power unique to their race.

Using the tools of the gods, those youths went from two to one, and their power was multiplied.

He was close to dying, and his body remained powerless again.

We intervened once again.

He sensed our presence again and released it through the void with a mighty roar, and we could felt he started to understand us further. However, he was still in defiance, as he looked down on the youth, and uttered words without our permission.

"You can't bet me anymore."

"I'll take that challenge!" they said, with a smile on their face.

They didn't look scared. They were defiant.

"Wow! Talk about hot! Your heat is reaching all the way! So that's Ultra Whatever?"

"Ultra Instinct.", the man said with a quiet tone.

They felt challenged and in their arrogance, released so much energy they could destroy an entire universe, just to show off their supposed superiority.

Their presence was disgusting.

The man allowed us to control him, and stop releasing our presence.

"You done powering up?"

"Yeah. This is enough for me."

Let our presence be felt, man. They attacked with all of their might, but our speed was enough to make a mockery of their defiance.

"Hey! Stop dodging you bastard!"

The man allowed us to kept moving on our own, but there was still something wrong with him. He still thought for himself. He didn't allow us to fully take control of him yet, making our power nothing but a breeze. Despite his defiance, the man still managed to use our presence to take them out.

We felt disgusted, and left once again.

One of his allies tried to call us following his example.

He was a prideful fool, not worth our presence.

The tournament was ending, and the man was completely alone. His allies sacrificed themselves to help him survive. He only had the warrior with the selfish wish to face.

In their hopes and dreams, his allies trusted him to lead their universe to survival.

Yet, he was powerless once again, ready to die.

Our test wasn't done, as we were still curious.

We intervene one last time in this climactic moment.

The man struck back with our presence against the warrior. He was less arrogant this time. Yes, we could felt his body allow our presence to fully control him as we desire. It took a while fighting the warrior, but he was calm, patient.

He stopped fighting back, and allowed us to fully take control of him.

He was bathed in our light.

He became us.

The gods were impressed, as they forgot what our presence was like. We looked at the warrior, and he wasn't scared. A mortal that went beyond the realm of the gods in strength alone was truly something unique, yet his ideals made us disgusted.

We struck, and he was overwhelmed. He fought hard, we'll grant him that, yet nothing he did was able to strike us down. He was angry, and started to scream about his ideal that strenght was justice, and how losing would mean insulting what he believes and the memory of his fallen master.

We couldn't care less.

He released so much power in his refusal to surrender. Indeed, he went at us to fight back, but his power was limited.

"No matter what! I'll never lose!"

And he managed to take us by surprise.

What was happening? This shouldn't happen. We released an energy wave to defend ourselves from his anger, triggered by his prideful foolishness, but we fell.

This shouldn't be happening.

We stood up and attacked the warrior once again..

"You still this much power left? You persistent bastard!"

Indeed. Why were we being overwhelmed? The foolish warrior shouldn't be capable of standing to us. Yet, he was still fighting back, and sent us to the ground.

This shouldn't be happening.

Stand up, man!

And we... no. We didn't. He did.

"Impossible! You shouldn't have this much stamina left!"

We agreed. There was something wrong here.

"It ain't over yet," the man said.

That wasn't us.

"How can you still stand up after being beaten so many times?!" The warrior screamed.

This is absurd.

"My allies... and everyone else is trusting me, " the man was saying without our control. "I swear on that faith I can never back down now!"

The warrior was angry, and so were we. Our presence was being used without our control. Was this man able to control us? Why?

The power of his allies? No, that's stupid. The man just refuses to be controlled entirely, as he was feeling something else, something we can't understand.

He was feeling admiration and envy over the warrior, who despite only being a mortal managed to reach a level higher than he could ever do. This feeling... was disgusting. The man was using our presence without our permission to keep fighting against the warrior.

"This is our power, Jiren."

No, this isn't our power, you foolish man.

The man managed to defeat him, and in a moment of panic, the warrior attacked his allies who were sitting with the gods. The man was furious, and couldn't control his anger. We felt a disturbance.

"I don't think I'm a hero of justice or anythin', but those who hurt my friends... I WILL NEVER FORGIVE!"

This is absurd, beyond our control. The man went and ignored our presence to attack the warrior fueled by intense emotion as he always felt by own instinct.

We were disgusted.

The warrior was left unable to keep moving, yet, the man was ignoring us. He was ignoring us after everything we allowed him, and he was preparing energy not to kill or hurt, but to heal.

He was ignoring us, as he wanted to keep using our power for his own selfish desire to keep fighting the warrior.

We were disgusted, and never felt a disgust so authentic in our existence.

We took away our presence away, and left him to die.

He screamed in intense pain, and we felt joy.

The warrior stood up, with a sad look on his face. He blasted the man off the stage, telling him he will always live in his memories. However, the man survived thanks to his allies who were still alive. We knew they were alive, but we were sure the man would follow our will instead of his own.

At the end, they defeated the warrior, and one of the man's allies used Zarama's spheres to bring back the destroyed universes.

The man couldn't felt our presence again after the Tournament.

And he never will.

"I understand your problems. However, that man has proven time and time again to break every limit, as I checked in the book of life. The Omni-kings and I were amazed by such man dedication. It will be a matter of time before he reaches your power again, great presence."

We don't feel doubt in your voice. Yes, you are a correct. Is only a matter of time before that man reaches our presence again with his disgusting determination.

Perhaps we can understand the evil entity reasons to wish for the extinction of humanity.

The life force ceased to be, as its sentience went to sleep. The Grand Priest was watching the never-ending abyss of the multiverse, with a worried look on his face.

Author Note: This was a silly fanfic I got after hearing about Venom, the movie with Tom Hardy. Is pretty clear Goku will use the Selfish Doctrine once again, but I was annoyed by how it was treated as just another transformation at the end, so I decided to turn it into a character with an otherworldly mentality.

Despite the tone, I don't hate Kefla or Jiren, I was simply playing with Ultra Instinct's personality.
