^Neko Walks in stage left^
This is an Apology for being gone for so long. College apps and scholarships are really getting to me. I should be getting out the next chapter within the next week or two. Just letting all of you know I'm in no way giving up on writing and I never will! :3
I wrote this poem on a whim. It's for a facebook contest. Nothing big just 50 extra house points.

A True Slytherin

What? What is this?
How can this be so?
Yes, yes, little miss!
Well, how do you know?
You all trust this stupid hat
To decide your future
Just like that?
I'm bookish,
I'm shy.
I'm not known
To lie.
I'm trying to tell you all,
I'm not a Slytherin.
But this hat has the gall
To say-
Slytherin!
They're sly.
They're cunning.
Ambitious, shrewd,
And shunning
To those who might be
The best of friends to me.
And yet you've said repeatedly-
Slytherin!
Well you know what I say?
Ravenclaws are smart;
I get A's for a start.
Hufflepuffs play fair;
And sometimes I do care.
Gryffindors may be daring,
But at least they aren't overbearing.
And yet the little voice in my head is saying-
You're ambitious.
You know it.
As for cunning,
You show it.
Self preservation,
Determination.
You're a Leader
Who will be there
To chase away the fools
With her certain disregard for the rules!
Slytherins are so much more
Than what you give them credit for.
All those traits may be true,
But face it; it's the place for you!
The best of the best
Have shown the rest
That it's what you do
That makes the real you!
Snape is your Hero.
You've known this for years.
He's the one in your dreams;
He's chased away your fears.
So now I'm listening
To that voice in my head.
I won't let Voldemort
Fill my heart with dread.
I will be the best Slytherin I can be
For the rest of eternity!
