Chapter 1: Getting Ready
Today was September 12th and it was Alec's birthday and Jace and Clary were putting up decorations up for the party. With Magnus' help of course. "No Jace that goes here not there," Clary said. "Ok well where does it go then?" Jace answered as he put the sign on top of Clary's head. "Come on Jace! Alec's going to be here in like a hour," Clary yelled while laughing. As they put more decorations up Clary had to ask Magnus and Jace for help. Most of the time Clary was on Jace's shoulders. "Jace, I'm gonna go call Izzy to see if they got the cake and Simons supposed to get Alec." "Alright," he said, letting her of his shoulders. Clary walked a couple feet away to call Izzy. "Hello?", Izzy answered on the second ring. "It's Clary I just wanted to know if you got the cake." "Yeah, I'm on the way back to the Institute now" Izzy said. "Ok good we just finished the decorations. I'll text Simon now. Bye see you in a few." "Bye" she said before hanging up.
Clary: Hey Simon you almost here?
Simon: Yeah on the way now with Alec he was sleep in Magnus' room
Clary: Ok see you in a minute
"Guys," Clary said to Magnus and Jace "I prefer freewheeling bisexual warlock. Not guy, Biscuit." Said Magnus said with a . "Fine. Jace and freewheeling bisexual warlock, Iz is almost here with the cake and Simon is coming back with Alec now. By the way he was sleeping in your bed Magnus." She said rolling her eyes. Magnus smiled at Clary and she made a face at him. They heard a knock at the front door. "It must be Izzy, I'll go get it." Clary said as she walked off to the door. When she opened she found Izzy with her hands filled with the cake and what seemed to be a pie. "I got the pie for memories sake." Izzy said. Clary instantly remembered the demon realm where Alec made the pie joke that they still talk about today. "Well alright," Clary said as she took the cake from Izzy. She walked over to the table and looked at it. It was chocolate with chocolate frosting and huge strawberries. The lettering said "Happy Birthday Alec" and a fondant bow and arrow in the middle. Clary walked over to the fridge and put it in the bottom row. After that she turned all the lights off and told everybody to hide. She texted Simon from her hiding spot and he said they were just around the corner. About 2 minutes later they heard the door open...
