Kirino opens his eyes, awoken by the whimpers of the younger one beside him. He could barely see Kariya's face but Kirino knew by heart that his face was in a grimace. Kirino frowns, worry for his junior evident on his face. He places his hand on Kariya's forehead and pulls back some of his hair. Kariya wakes up from the touch and Kirino heard a sniff coming from the other. "Senpai…?"
"Is it another nightmare?" Kirino asks softly. He feels Kariya nod and hears another sniff, probably from trying not to cry. "Sorry I woke you up…" Kariya apologizes, guilt in his tone of voice. His voice sounds muffled, probably because he pulled the blanket up to cover half of his face. Kirino merely smiles, more worried about Kariya than lack of sleep. He pulls the younger teen closer to him, barely into a hug. Kariya is surprised. "Se-senpai?"
"Go to sleep. I'll fight off the Bogeyman for you," Kirino says with a smile. Kariya's face turns red and he nods slowly. Kirino rests his chin on top of the other's head and Kariya finds himself lying closer to the senior. They both fall asleep in each other's arms.
It's too late for me to write anything long for myself, so the only thing I managed to whip out for my birthday is a short drabble. But I'm satisfied, it's been a good day.
