Chapter 2
Blaine Anderson woke up, yawned, stretched and rubbed his eyes. 'Blaaaaine!' came a loud voice from his dorm bathroom. He laughed sleepily 'what?' he asked before looking at his clock 'how are you awake already, it's 9 am on a Saturday!' He rolled his eyes as Rachel Berry came out of the bathroom fully ready, dressed in her traditional Christmas sweater over a navy and white polka dot dress that she wore with knee socks. 'I was trying to wake you up' she said. Hands on her hips. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up 'well you did just that' he grinned, ruffling her hair. Rachel tutted and smoothed her hair back into it's usual style. She looked up at him laughing 'you have nothing to laugh about!' she giggled 'not with the absence of your hair gel!' Blaine looked in the mirror and groaned, realising his hair had fallen into it's usual curly mop overnight. 'So' he grinned, smoothing it down 'what are we doing today?' Rachel looked up from putting away the sofa bed she slept on when she slept over at Dalton 'well' she pondered 'James and Scott want us to go out to dinner at that place we went to last time' Blaine laughed 'the one where you threw the hissy fit because they only had like one vegan meal?' Rachel nodded seriously 'they want to go back because the staff promised us a 50% discount'
An hour later, the pair were ready and stuffed into the back seat of Scott's car travelling to the restaurant. 'No more tantrums, okay?' James asked Rachel, laughing as she pouted. 'Dude' Scott said with a mouthful of burger 'she can throw as many as she wants as long as she gets us a discount' Blaine rolled his eyes 'Attractive, Scott. Plus why do you even want more food after what..your second burger?' Scott turned around to show Blaine a mouthful of chewed up burger, which Rachel made a gagging sound at. 'Hey' Blaine said, laughing 'not in front of a lady' Rachel smiled gratefully, and stuck her tongue out at Scott.
As they pulled up outside the restaurant Blaine got out and opened Rachel's door, ever the gentleman. As Scott and James raced each other to the doors, Blaine looked at Rachel, rolling his eyes. She rolled hers back and the pair laughed. Blaine held out his arm to Rachel, and started walking as she hooked hers through his. 'Boys!' she yelled 'stop right there! We do not charge into restaurants like bulls..even ones with hardly any vegan meals!' She said, putting a hand on each of their shoulders. Blaine laughed at his best friend, the way she'd stopped the boys in their tracks and was now looking at each of them seriously. 'Sorry' they both mumbled, resulting in a delighted giggled from Rachel, a sound that Blaine loved.
Rachel let James and Scott go in first, and was about to let Blaine in as he opened the door for her. 'Ladies first' he smiled. She grinned at him, and walked in but waited for him. Seeing the other boys had already gone off to a table somewhere, she grabbed his hand-something she always did, 'we'd better go find them' she laughed 'God only knows what they'll do alone'
Blaine just nodded. It was weird, the pair always held hands, always. But this one time it had felt a little different. It had meant something a little different to him. He swallowed and shook his head, following Rachel.
