With her mouth parted the way it was, I absentmindedly stared. She didn't seem to notice, and so I made no effort to hide my hopes. A smile tickled the corners of my mouth as I noticed the small bounce of her bottom lip that moved in time with her step. Unknown to me, my own jaw had dropped and twitched slightly. Only when she turned to look at me did I realize it. She hid a laugh and her blush by turning away, and I snapped my mouth shut, turning back to the sidewalk. I felt her hand slip into mine, and I blushed. She stopped me.
"Harl, we have to get home." As I turned toward her to see what had made her stop, she let go of my hand and moved it to my hip. I instinctively returned to my "bitch face". She didn't say anything, and for a few moments, I just stood scowling at her. Then she began to walk past me, her nails digging into my skin, forcing me to follow. I forced my face to relax out of the anger and pulled her nails out of my side. She quickened the pace, and i had to run to keep up.
After we got home, I placed my new baby into the greenhouse and watered her. I left and met Harley in the livingroom.
"Harley, what was this all about?" I pulled down the waistline of my sweats so that she could see the marks on my hip. She smiled and touched them. Her hands were warm.
"Well, ya seemed ta not wanna walk,so..." She said, scraping her nails over them again. "figured i'd get you to move." Looking up at me, I noticed a smirk that I knew all too well.
"Harley…"
"Aw, come on, Red! You know you won't regret it…"
"That's not the problem. This isn't healthy for you. Aren't you just getting over his de-" I stopped myself, her face falling slightly. "I mean… Harl, this is bad for your mental health. Just as bad as the abuse." She sighed and readjusted the elastic on my pants.
"I know." Watching her retreat back to the couch, I sighed and sat next to her.
"I'm sorry." My throat still tightened as those words were choked out. I pulled her to me and let her hug me. She was so warm. That, or I was just cold. I shivered as her hand brushed my ribs and she smiled.
"You're cold."
"You're warm."
"I'm human." I sighed and snuggled my chin into the top of her head. We sat there for a moment until I felt something wet on my collar bone.
"Oh, god, Harley!" I pushed her off of me and wiped her saliva off of me. She laughed and rolled onto the floor. I stared down at her before standing and walking over to the kitchen.
"Aw, take a joke, Pam-a- lam!"
"That's nasty, Harley." I used a towel to wipe anything i'd missed off "I'm gonna go take a shower, you weirdo. When I get back I expect coffee in my cup."
"Yes ma'am Red, anything' you say Red." I rolled my eyes and walked to my room to grab clothes. Searching through my drawer I noticed a sticky note on my wall. Pulling it off, I sighed. "Harley I swear to god,if you-" I looked at the note and exhaled. "Of course there is." Looking on the bed, I found my black nightgown covered in cotton balls… again. Last time it was cake balls, so at least she'd gotten less messy. "Harley! I'm not playing this damn game tonight!"
"Please!?" I didn't answer and grabbed it. Heading to the shower, I picked at it, tearing them off one by one. I smiled and undressed.
We played her game a few days ago. It's my turn.
After my shower,I slipped on the dress and sighed. Man, I sigh a lot when it comes to her antics, but I love them anyway...
Author's note- I know the ending is a little abrubt, but I don't really have the sleep-o-meter ratings to care...
